No idea, but that thing is awesome.  Please tell me you can take it out on the course with the buddies for a round.

Wow, looks more suited to Croqeut than golf. Cant find anyting on the interweb about it.

Looks like a mallet type putter. It appears to have a stick on label. Stickers were invented in 1935 so it’s no older than that. Being a metallic/ plastic sticker I’d put it as younger than that maybe 50’s 60’s era. Just a guess though

That's pretty cool looking.

If it didn't have such a long shaft on it I would have guessed Ball peen hammer!

Second guess a hybrid croquet mallet or a polo stick for shorter people???

not all that unusual design. It is older but, I remember seeing similar about twenty years ago that looked to have been CNC Milled, cylindrical, but not with end caps. The head also did not have a flat face. The idea was to impart top spin. You would hit just like any putter, not like a croquet mallet. Not sure of the legality, but if I were to design something like that, I would have the ends as wheels and use a push stroke as in shuffle board. Dumb? Maybe, Effective?, probably, Different? definitely.

Yup pretty much, except for colour. The ones I saw were S/S  About that same time frame, I seem to recall seeing Drivers and Fairway Woods, that were sort of mallet shaped. I don't know if that was some sort of weird dream, or I actually saw them at a pro shop. Maybe "The Hammer?". Looked like a sledge hammer on a shaft.

Neat idea and you might want to patent that as Bryson DeChambeau might start doing that next week!!

Wouldn't be the first time one of my nutty,half-baked,  often mocked, ideas take on a life of their own. As for my motivation, I tend to offer up things on the spur of the moment, regardless of what others may think. Most are silliness, some worthwhile, but all are original thinking notwithstanding that they are often having been influenced by something or someone else. I take no credit for the good, but accept the criticism of those that are not. Regarding the above, recall Sam Snead's frontal "penny pitching" style that was outlawed and he opted to go side saddle.

Think you found Chuck Norris' driver.

Nah, Chuck prefers a much thicker shaft to accommodate his G.I. Joe Kung-Fu grip.

Still in use in some parts.  I had one as a youth, pretty effective as I recall, if you kept the blades sharpened which would probably be a lost art today. or ask Clint Eastwood in   "Get off my lawn".  (Gran Torino).

I have used it to hammer a few visible nails in the rafters of my garage. It is strange that everyone I show this thing to is impressed by it, but no one has a clue as to what it is. Thanks for your input

Well, if anyone bumps into Chuck, let him know that I will return it to him for a handsome reward.

My co-worker did find this picture, which appears to show a similar club in the upper left corner.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
