Day 526: I was going to get some MEVO data today, but I forgot to charge the unit after the last session. So I just work on my pieces with a 9 iron.

Day 88: 3/26/2022

Shot an 84 on the other Angel Park course. Hit it well, but my wedge play hurt me today. I also missed some very short putts. Long and mid range putting was good. 50 to 80 yard pitch shots were not great. Hit many of them much too long. It was a great time though, and I'm excited about where my game is right now.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 21.  I didn't think I'd have time to practice today, but when I got home (long, but very fun day, career-related: conference), I needed to wind down, and I found a year or so ago that slow swings calm me down, in addition to being good practice.  About five minutes (and as many balls) each with the 9-iron and 6-iron were tonight's practice.

Day 527: Worked on getting some MEVO data today. I was hitting shots a little heavy. My stance rug was also getting worn and I was slipping. Fixed that with some leftover mat I had.

Day 22: (I did practice yesterday, but I was away from home, and didn't get round to reporting it, and I'm not allowed to back date, so this is for today).  Chipping ladder with PW instead of 8I.  More difficult for me - I did actually complete the ladder with 8I yesterday.  Putting ladder practice, and 10 foot putting game from ESC.  It's very difficult!  I didn't get above zero after aboyt 30 holes!

Day 22 - since I’ve been a basket case over the ball during my last outing, hitting some fat, thin, flubbed pitches, etc, I decided to actually work on my pre-shot routine today and I saw immediate improvements. I’m not quite sure why, but there is definitely something about going through the same little steps each shot improved my ball contact.  I just need to be cognizant of that when I play.

Day 71:

Played 18. Really focused on making sure lead hand grip was fingery instead of palmy. Front 9 sprayed the ball everywhere, back 9 improved significantly.

Day 89: 3/27/2022

Played Bear's Best today. Full shots were very good. My short game was not good at all. I putted well from long distance, but I very literally missed 7 of 9 from about 3 feet. What is up with that? My driver was a machine on the front 9. Hit every fairway I used it on. And it was very windy. So that was promising.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

Day 22.  Played a tournament outing.  It was a fourball qualifier, but I played all 18 without picking up.  Shot an 85 on my ball, which included improving my away course composite by five shots, including birdie at #10.

day 24: spent an hour and a half on the range going through all clubs.. they also opened the grass-chipping area again (it's usually used as a putting green in the winter), which is great, as I don't like chipping off the mats

Day 23: Had a lesson today.  Focussed almost entirely on ensuring the hips finish ahead of the shoulder centre.  Lots of slow swings, and noticing the feel and assessing the finish position.  My one focus for the next two weeks is this - hips ahead of shoulder.  Whatever promotes both this behaviour, and being able to notice it.

    • Day 7: got out my chipping net and worked on chipping in the living room for a solid 15 minutes. Worked on mostly low shots, but mixed in a couple of high shots as well.
    • Day 228 4-4 More hip/chest turn and wrist arching. Working on hinging wrist a bit later. Foam balls.
    • Day 27 (4 Apr 26) - Worked with grandson on basic pitches/punches in the back yard with varied irons/wedges.  Wrapped up the day rolling some putts on the 30’ carpet I can set up in the yard to give varied terrain - and this carpet rolls almost too easy. A great way to figure a read and know that pace has to be near perfect to get in the hole.
    • A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.
    • Day 550 - 2026-04-04 Practiced in the sim at a club for awhile. Did a SW ladder and practiced for awhile with my 7I.
