Just a repost from earlier, could not get it to read bold or red from my phone

Please read the rules. You don't post red until you accomplish the actual challenge. You've not done that on day 2 or 3 @DrMJG.

Day 154 - July 7, 2018 - Pulled my groin muscle (right leg) last night at soccer. Badly (not Level 3, but probably Level 2 for sure). So… I hit some very short shots today. Some 7-irons at a bird about 90 yards away. Some putts. Some chips.

Walking was difficult today, so… :-(

Day 36.  Spent 45 minutes putting.  Outdoors, green;  focused primarily on inside 10', did a bit of longer speed too.

I almost wasn't able to practice;  I got gas (for the car) on the way and washed my windshield while it was pumping.  Then as I drove from the gas station to the golf course, it started raining.  Fortunately it was a light rain and let up almost right away.

Day 12 July 7th, 2018

I worked on full shots at the range today. I focused on keeping a nice smooth tempo.

Day 188  Weather guy said it was 84*, with 34% humidity, at 5:30 am. Feels like it

Couldn't decide what I wanted to work on this morning. So, I just hit wedges over the practice bunker/burm to a protected flag.

Messed around with opening the club face on various wedges, just to see the ball flights. I would lay the club face open, having it pointing to my target. I would then open my stance to what is appropriate for me. Then just hit the ball. Nothing hard about that.

Focus was on clearing the bunker/burm hazard, while landing the ball on the backside of the burm. On the course, this shot would allow the ball to kick, and/or roll off the burm, onto the green. Hit 28 balls from various distances. All of them cleared the hazard. (A-)

It's pretty warm, and uncomfortable, so I I cut this practice session short. Only took about 40 minutes.

DAY 229    Continued to work on my short wedge game for 2 plus hours.  Drilled with left hand only, right hand only, top of backswing and pause then hit, ...   Seem to be making some progress.   The last 45 minutes I spent hitting shots to random targets in the green with a 52 degree wedge.   Still a long way to go...

Day 4:

Started adding 5 more reps to each actor of the body warm-up.  Warmed up quickly in this hot weather.  Must not rush the process. Started with 7i and mainly off deck.  Concentrated on hitting ball in line.  Eliminated the mis-hits quite a bit and ended up hitting ball with greater accuracy.  Mis-hits were primarily a slice or a soft push. Working to make sure I am square.  Fix worked well.  Then hit my 5h quite a bit.  Good hight off the contact.  Here, again, working on square hit as opposed to trying for the simply height.

More speed training with my club simulator. 10 reps. 10 warmup and 25 stretching swings. Got the club simulator up to 87mph in resistance mode and 114 in over speed mode. Driver speed with a standard length steel X200 or X100 shafted G15 driver clocked at 106.6 average on Mevo. I’m trying to see if I can correlate resistance and over speed speeds with actual swing speeds using a SS radar...going to put a standard 45.75” 65gm graphite shaft back into that club some time this week. My playing club is perfect right now, and I don’t want to risk damaging it in my net area. Plus, it’s only a 43” club.

Did a shorter hike this morning. 46 floors and 5.2 miles before it started getting really hot. Was only 85F to 93F at the end of the hike.

BP 118/82 60 resting. 148 peak HR during peak climbing on hike. 188.4 pounds after hike, but after drinking 2 pints of water.

Day 155.2 - July 8, 2018 - Played nine holes with just an 8-iron hitting some shorter shots (and some from 165 with low big hooks to get the ball to go 165), mostly testing out the groin, which feels just fine. Noticeably uncomfortable, but like a sore thumb, not like a pain. Just not gonna run, jump, etc. any time soon.

Day 13 July 8th, 2018

Went to the range today and worked more on hands forward divot after the ball. I also worked on 125 yard pitching wedge shots.

Day 37.  Did the Broadie 10' drill, took 35 holes to complete it.  Then I went to the range, working on my priority piece (hand location, hitting ground, lag).  20 balls, took about 40 minutes.  I then hit the last 10 balls with driver, working on alignment and seeing what my shape was (note to self from last round:  shot zones are 3D constructs).  I then did some 4' and 8' putts and a few 30' without any specific drill.

Day 189.  Had a few rain drops (very few) hit me this morning. Warm and humid it was.

Today was pitching, chipping, and putting practice.

On the pitches, and chips, from various areas around the green, the focus was on green reads, alignment, and hitting my chosen landing area with the struck ball.

Reads we're more for what I needed the ball to do after landing, to roll closer to the hole, if not into it. Alignment was for proper aim of the ball flight to hit the landing area, my previous read showed. This alignment/aim included both a square, and sometimes an open club face at impact.

Pitches were from 25 +/- feet from off the green. Chips were from 5-10 feet off the green using the Runyon chip/putt method. I wanted to hit longer pitches, but there is a "short pitches only" sign

Using one of my game balls, each pitch/chip was followed up by a putt. Focus on putting was, "no two putts". Hit a total of 40 balls. (C+). I had a few too many two putts. No off the green hole outs either. I usually get one or two of those. .

Using one ball, from various areas, while using different clubs, involved a lot of walking around. No two shots were the same, since I also used various practice pin placements. I would just drop a ball, and the figure out what I needed to do. Probably took me 90 minutes to go through this 40  hole drill. Luckily the rain cells stayed away.

Day 5

Good warm-up using additional reps.  Hot again but far more humid.  Still had a very good practice.  I have slowly developed an order for my clubs: 56w, 7i 5h 4h 8i driver, no real reason for order, just what I did a few days ago.  Only driver off tee. Today only on slight push, one slight pull.  All others. were acceptably on line.  Good lift off tee, clubs gave good yards out as expected for the club.  Not sure what I did to assure such a good AM except I did not rush between hits; which is a real problem as my range automatically re tees after each shot.  Perhaps starting with hits off the mat helps with this.  Scheduled for a round Wed if weather holds. Hoping for a third good day in a row tomorrow.

    • As a supporter of the European team even though I chose to live in the US, this is kind of good news. I'm pretty close to Bethpage, but won't be going at these prices. Neither will the crazy drunk NY sports fans who would have made this a very difficult place to play as a Euro. The tickets will go to the city types who are entertaining clients and don't care about the money. Many of them are going to sit there and watch, not get all raucous. I am not dumb enough to believe that this is going to be like a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park for the Euros, but I think it will be significantly more subdued as a result of the prices. Even at $250 I would probably have been watching on the TV anyway so no real skin in the game.
    • First, it is on free TV. NBC is free to anyone with an antenna, and is on almost any TV in the U.S. with a minimal amount of effort. Charging "a bargain price" would be incredibly dumb. They charged $750 and the event sold out almost immediately. You could better argue they should have charged MORE, not less. What happens if you charge less: ticket scalpers buy up even more of the tickets because they see value: if tickets were $250, they'd clearly have sold for $1k or more on the secondary market. That's tremendous value. Fans would end up paying the same or more, or just not being able to go. Sure, a few who happened to be online at the precise moment on a fast connection and didn't fumble with their credit cards might have gotten tickets for $250, but the secondary market and ticket brokers would have scooped up the vast majority with automated processes and bots and scripts, then re-sold them later on. This way, fans get to purchase the tickets, and the PGA is earning that revenue, not the secondary ticket brokers. Econ 101. Supply and Demand. Nope.
    • Tiger Woods on Ryder Cup pay: 'I hope they would get $5 million each and donate it all to charity' Edit - the link has no title, but basically Tiger wants $5 million for each US player to “donate to charity”   They could put the Ryder Cup on free to air tv, and charge the fans a bargain price to get in.  If you have to  give the players $60 million, that’s why the tickets are $750.
