s-l1600.jpg                     I had a  set of these years ago and loved the simplicity, does anyone know what year they were made? My guess is the forty's but what do I know.

I believe those are likely 1970s, maybe even early 80s. That's the era when I began playing and those are reminiscent of the clubs that were popular at that time.

If those are Mcgregor Tourney clubs, I think their Tourney line of clubs came out after WW-2, and continued on after that. So your 40ish age might be correct.

One of my very first sets, that I bought at a swap meet, looked similar, and had Jack Nicklaus stamped on them. I figured if he had his name on them, I would be breaking par the next time out. Boy was I surprised........

I agree.  I notice they have a kind of cavity back so I’d lean towards early 80’s.  But that’s only a guess.

Those are going to be mid-late 70's, I think. Maybe early 80's but I lean more toward 70's. Found a picture of some very close from 1975.

Might be 1974. I was working in a retail golf shop the summer between high school and college and bought a set of these off the rack (black paint fill instead of whatever color that is) using my employee discount. I played with them about 3 years and then they went into the closet, where they stayed until I sold them at a moving sale just a few years ago.

What's in the bag:
Driver: TaylorMade R9-460, 10.5 degrees, graphite shaft R flex
Hybrids: Kasco, 17 and 25 degrees, stock graphite shafts
Irons: MacGregor 1025 V-Foil forged irons, 4-PW, graphite shafts R, 2 degrees upright
Wedges: TaylorMade Black Oxide, 52, 56, and 60 degrees, graphite shafts
Putter: Rife Barbados mallet, 35 inches with SuperStroke 2.0 grip                                                                                                      Ball: Titleist AVX yellow

Your AV looks like you've been selling insurance door to door since 1965. So Im going say you're 100% correct in identifying these clubs.

probably sometime between 1965-75 somewhere in there... ironfinder.com would probably tell you when they were from.

The relatively short hosels are the key.  The irons are almost cavity backed.  Not quite but getting there.  They have a pre-cast vibe.  Early 80's.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

The Font style is that of the Early 1960s Tourneys but they don't have the middle level on the blade it is almost like a cavity-back. The MacGregor 985 Tourney Custom's Font and hosel style is very close to this.... I'm thinking somewhere in that window of 1974-78.
