Anyone viewing this in 4K HDR? How is it?

The yearly Bill Murray, Chris Berman, and Kenny G tournament is upon us.

Such a pain to watch, despite it taking place at Pebble Beach…

I personally have always enjoyed watching it. Some interesting fun and takes away from the always seriousness of the game. I am just glad these Pro Am's are not a monthly event. 1 week a year is enough for me.

What's in the bag?
2 Iron, 3 Iron, 4 Iron, 5 Iron, 6 Iron, 7 Iron, 8 Iron, 9 Iron, PW, GW, 3 Wood, 5 Wood, Putter
Titleist Irons, Callaway Woods and a Jack Nicklaus putter. Cigars and a case of Stella.

Well, I put the O'l Club Rat Hex / Voduu on Adam Scott this week by selecting him for Fantasy Golf.
Sheezzzzzz itsssss.

Not much of a root ball or system attached to that tree. Surprising.

Crickey, Gardner's World has changed a bit these days. Hope its not Alan Titchmarsh in the crane!

Seriously though its pretty incredible how they can do these projects AND limit the damage to the rest of the course.

Russ, from "sunny" Yorkshire = :-(

I was thinking that too. Maybe they cut some of it?

If you look at it from a distance, it looks like some trinket you buy from the gift shop. There would be something written on the base.

They'll probably show this on the telecast. If not, lost opportunity and proves the benefits of (hey we had a profitable quarter) Twitter over old school teevee.

Will have half an eye on it this evening - hate that all the 'highlight' videos I find are of putting on a green from a view that could be literally anywhere...

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

What's in the bag: Callaway X2 Hot Driver, Titleist 915F 3 wood, X2 Hot 3 Hybrid, 3, 5-AW Apex Pro irons, 54*, 58* Cleveland RTX, Odyssey Versa 1 Putter

Ted Potter is on a 59 watch only needing to play last 3 holes at 1 under and can't even get on the camera. Instead we are stuck watching Fitzgerald, Wayne, and many other 8 handicaps hit wild shots.

Can’t get on camera because he’s playing MPCC, bruh.

They were showing highlights though but yeah their main coverage is on PB. They should have sent someone over there though when it was looking like a real possibility. I didn't see how he finished either bog bog or a double in there.

Bog-bog.

thing about this tournament is pebble Beach is the star.  That’s what people want to see, as its pretty much the most picturesque and also photogenic course on tour.

Also, viewers like watching celebs play.  Viewers that prefer watching Ted Potter go for 59 rather than see Larry the cable guy’s big slice on the shot tracer are few and far between.  I watch golf every weekend and I am not one of them.

However, my friends and i are now referring to ted potter as Mr. Steal yo girl.  Because if this guy throws another 61 in DJ’s face tomorrow, he’s definitely taking Paulina home.

He's not going to shoot 61. Or probably even break 66.

Yeah I'm sure he was stuck at the Mucky Duck drinking expensive warm beer instead of hanging out at Nantz house drinking wine and shmoozing.

    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
    • This is my opinion as well. I would love to see the LPGA take the lead on this.    This.
    • I agree in general. The one way in which the viewer will notice the pace of play is just that "it's been an hour and Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler have only played four holes." Or if for some reason they show a lot of shots of players just standing around when they could be showing golf shots. But I think Andy Johnson said it most recently/best, playing fast is a skill, too. I would love for pro golfers to play faster. You'd see the players you want to see hit more shots in the same time than they do now. So I don't disagree with the pace of play stuff, and hope they can find ways to do it. Heck, the LPGA should leap at the chance to differentiate itself in this way, IMO. So: I stand by what I said in that the TV viewer really doesn't notice much about pace of play. It's rare when they do. I support increasing the pace of play wholeheartedly. But my top five reasons don't include TV ratings or viewership.
