I know this is just the Valspar Championship thread. Tiger hasn't shot that one 65 or 66 yet in this comeback. Is it just me, or does this comeback seem different than all the other ones?

Attention PGA Tour pros, do not let Tiger get the 54-hole lead... You won't catch him. I'm pretty sure, he still remembers how to close the door.

that's funny

Tiger is still really snapping the lead left knee....but I guess that's why he hits it a mile

I wish I could snap my knee like that! :-)

He is.  It's scary how far he's hitting it.

He's no kid and he's driving past the kids.

Tiger rightly urges caution - that he has 36 holes to go, that he's not six clear of the field and that it's a tight leaderboard, that he's just starting his comeback, etc.

Right thing to say, and accurate, too.

This Corey Conners is a playing really well. He still has a few tough holes to play so we'll see if he has the 36 hole lead. -7 thru 30 holes.

Oops... Conners back to 5-under with a 3-putt double bogey at the par-3 4th. and just dumped his 3rd shot in the bunker at the par-5 5th...

He doesn't have the lead, of course.

I saw another graphic that said the last five times (IIRC) he shot under par in the state of Florida in the first two rounds, he won the tournament. Four of those five again IIRC were at Bay Hill.

Corey Connors backs up his first round with another solid round today (69) and its good enough for a 2 shot lead headed for the weekend. He'll be in the final group Saturday with Paul Casey.

I think he handled himself well even though he had that brain fart at the 4th. He's got a 4 at 4 under 2 behind him. He'll get a seat to Tigermania 200-300 yards in front of him all day tomorrow. Let's see how he handles it then.

Should be fun, no reason to think he will do anything but continue to play well.

Might play well and lose the lead.

Sure there are.

He's a first-time leader on the PGA Tour and none other than Tiger Woods is nipping at his heels.

Paul Casey. Brandt Snedeker. Ryan Palmer. Sean O'Hair. Justin Rose. They're all right there.

I can only imagine the trip Woods' kids are on right now. Forget how old they are but they should be old enough to comprehend what's going on.

Again with this bull?

Give it up, man. He's probably not going to shoot 85 tomorrow. He's going to shoot a respectable score on a tough golf course because his physical game is very, very, very good. Even a 3% difference (NOT as it applies to score) is enough to account for a stroke or two at the PGA Tour level. It's a small edge. One he likely doesn't have.
