Is this something that I’m making up in my head or do most pros seem to tilt the tee toward the target when hitting the driver? It is pretty subtle but something I think I constantly notice.

If so, why? Reduce friction of the ball coming off of the tee?

Probably could’ve googled it but something I felt like asking about.

It's a great idea if you find your drives coming up 1/8th of an inch short.  Otherwise it is entirely psychological.  If it makes you feel better...go for it.

Not really interested about how it pertains to my game specifically. Just an academic question moreso than anything.

I have used all kinds of different tees over the years. I couldn't name or discribe them all. Some the ball would be a little more forward. Some towards the back. It made no difference in my ball flights.

I finally settled on those brush tees, only because I inherited a bunch of them. I may never run out of them.

I also use some of those wooden tees that look like an hour glass with a spike sticking out of the bottom.

Sometimes I just use a broken tee I find on the tee box.

What ever the pros do is probably just mental habit of some sort.

I didn't mean to be a jerk.  I am, sometimes, and I apologize for that.  Tilting the tee forward does not affect the flight of the ball; but it can affect the golfer.  If it does so in a positive way...why not do it?  This game is not a science project...but can be explained in scientific terms.  Your question: does it make any difference? can be answered in multiple ways.  My bad for choosing the wrong one.

I've seen a lot of high speed video of pro golfers' swings and I have never noticed this.

Well… I've been on Tour with players, and attended a lot of events, and all manner of other things, too… and I've never seen players doing this, either.

They just put the tee in the ground somewhere near straight up and down.

I wasn’t being sarcastic or anything. Just confirming that I was indeed seeing things.

Can't say I've seen anyone tilting it forward, but that's only based on TV footage. If anyone does, it's just a habit or psychological thing. I put them in straight to reduce the chances of the ball falling off to a minimum.
