The stuff you can't, won't, or rarely use. I tell my wife to let everyone know, "No golf gifts other than store credit." This is so I can avoid getting something like this:

Amazon.com : Eamall Toilet Golf Game Training Potty Putter Putting Mat Golf Game : Sports & Outdoors

Think I'll trade this in for some tees or something. Post away and Happy Holidays to each and every one of you.

Nothing this year as I requested as far a golf stuff is concerned. I have everything I need.

Over the years though I have recieved duplicate putters from my daughters. I couldn't make putts with them to save my life.

The one gadget that stands out however, was a pack of several tees. I don't recall the name, but they looked like a knife. There was a point on one end, and a ball holder on the other. In between they looked like the blade of a buck knife.

Problem was they wouldn't easily go into the tee box ground due to their size I guess. They were marketed as having less resistance during impact.

I got this key chain cylinder that had a little plunger on top. You were supposed to use press the plunger, it would release a bit of powder that you could mark your ball on the green with. The manufacturer suggested you fill it with fertilizer to help the grass grow. I visualized this dime sized spot of grass a half inch higher then the rest of the green. Its in my junk drawer.

Everyone knows better than to get me anything golf related, other than the golf balls that they know specifically that I use…

I got that stupid potty game a few years ago.  Turned around and sold it at the spring garage sale a few months later for $5.  Called it a win.

Wouldn't the greens keeper not at all appreciate someone taking it upon themselves to lay down fertilizer, regardless of how little? There's a lot of science to golf course maintenance.

Add me to the list who has received the stupid potty game.  Still in the box in storage, I need to throw that thing away.

My sibs joked about that, but they know better.

I got a bunch of very basic but highly useful stuff. Balls, tees and a new brush.

No complaints here.

This is a hilarious way for a wife to let their husband know they’re obsessed with golf! 🤪

Luckily, My obsession with golf has waned a bit to a more “normal” level of involvement the last two years or so...😊

I was given the potty putter due to my golf addiction 😒  however they did make it for it by buying some tees, new callaway net, and a couple other cool little items lol

I remembered another useless gift from several years ago.

My son in law gave me book of 5 free rounds of golf at a course across town. . He told me it was a "regift" that he wouldn't use, and hoped I didn't mind. I was happy to recieve it.

So one weekend I loaded up my golf gear and took the drive across town for a free round of golf.  Due to traffic, and the course's location it was a 45 minute drive.

Surprise! Surprise! When I arrived at the course, a developer was digging the place up to prepare the area for a bunch of single family homes.

We found out later the book of free golf was only a week old from being purchased. It was a last minute scam of sorts. The golf store who sold the book had closed it's doors too.

    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
