It wasn't his fault!!!! Those wenches at Hooters keep brining out the cold ones and making it a pleasure to hang out.....'specially when they are hanging out.

You just can't beat Hooters for a place to watch a game.

J.D., though, should probably avoid such spots.

Poor guy....I can't help but keep on pulling for him....want to see him suceed.

In March, Daly and his swing coach at the time, Butch Harmon, parted ways after Daly spent time in a Hooter's corporate tent at a PGA Tour tournament in Tampa. Harmon said that Daly wasn't serious about the game of golf.

I kinda feel the same way. John is lucky that he's a pro golfer vs another pro sport because I think the media in other sports would demonize him a little more for his lesser life choices.

The didn't have to arrest him, did they? I think a quiet cot in the drunk tank and release with scolding would have sufficed (unless he broke some other law).

JD is that Uncle everyone wants to hang out with, but that no one wants to actually invite for a family outing. It's too bad he's wasted such talent...

They didn't arrest him. They just stuck him in the tank until morning.

[QUOTE=Q.Q.Quillume;225726]J.D. taken into custody by Winston-Salem police - found drunk outside Hooters. (You just can't make this stuff up!)

Choice and accountability... you can't have one without the other.

Another ingredient that John has lost is desire . Butch is right... I guess he hasn't hit bottom yet; it's sad to witness his continual downward spiral.

Maybe there are Hooters in Europe strategically located near Euro Tour courses.

I daresay any of us who had been blessed with such talent would get down on our knees each morning in thanks, whereas it looks like John gets down on his knees each evening and tanks.

This is not even close to a sad story. Daly has proven himself to be a loser. It was just a matter of time before he did another stupid thing. He'll do it again, too.

As far as the arrest, I can only speak for California law. We go by 647fPC which is public intoxication (unable to care for the safety of yourself or others)....some departments only detain you for a 6 hour (state mandatory) minimum and release you with a stern warning some hold you for the 6 hours and then site you for the misdemeanor. The news story may have been playing semantics....lots of people do not like the arrest word or stigma, so they say "I was detained in your facility, I was held here, I was taken into custody, I was investigated"....when in reality they were arrested. As for JD, sounds like a trip to rehab is in order, where is Dr. Drew?

In my own backyard...that place is 5-10 minutes from my house. Sad story.

You weren't feeding beers to him were you?

In all seriousness, I have trouble feeling sorry for a guy who has refused all help and accountability for his actions.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Sucks to see people with so much talent drink themselves into oblivion. If he doesn't put the plug in the jug he'll drop off the face of the planet pretty soon.
You know it's bad when the head of Callaway offered to pay off J.D.'s gambling debts if he quit drinking and was said "No." Uh, can anyone say bye-bye $3 million?

I stopped feeling sorry for him about 2 years ago; we all make choices, and it seems most of his just suck. Everyone sees he needs help except for JD.

when he does hit bottom, he'll be redefining what it means.

I just think the guy is fantastic, a real personality and a half, the mug shot in the article though wasn't good
