I was just curious at what age did you start golfing along with how many years have you been golfing so far. There is always a net story behind a topic like this. I started golfing on our school golf team in 1oth grade, so that would be over 32 years ago and never made the PGA...lol

started going to the range with dad at age of 10 i think. Started golfing more seriously at around 13-14 years old. 2 handicap and team win state champ by 16. Quit at 18 due to epic failure of not getting into college golf team...back at it at age 24. Now trying to grab back at the 2 handicap.

I started when I was in 3rd grade, played for about a year. Started back up again last year, so this is my second "real" season I guess.

2013 Goal:

Really started trying to play in summer of 7th grade, about 14 years of age. I was a caddie, and we got to play at 7 a.m. Fridays for a couple of years. After that, the members said no.

Using PGA tour pro Doug Ford's book, I was self-taught for the next 8 years. Pros have been trying to correct early errors since then.

A complicating factor: My dad thought golf was a sissy sport. OK to caddie for $, but silly to play.

Focus, connect and follow through!

I probably played for the first time when I was 13 or 14, didn't go out more than half a dozen times or so over the next few years, though. Picked it up again for about 8 months when I was 22. Then again when I was 27, again for a few months, and finally have been playing steadily for the last couple years, starting at about 30. It seems to have stuck this time around...

Started golfing when I was 54 and lost my job. All those years I could have been playing in the Tuesday night leagues. Instead, I stayed in the office and worked. Missed a lot of fun, I must admit.

Oh well, catching up. 30 rounds posted this year.

Started at 20, about 2 1/2 years ago. Really wish I would have been on the golf team instead of the football team haha.

I didn't start until I was about 30 and I only started playing because I noticed that all the guys who got promoted were the ones who golfed! Well, two things happened. I got promoted & I fell in love with game.

Age 47 I started after losing interest in water skiing for the last 10 years, now in my 4th season. Wish I had start 30 years ago but I had other hobbies going on too while building a career & raising a family.

Technically when I was just a tiny kid about 2 or 3 I always had those plastic toy clubs. Started playing on the course when I was 7 or 8.

Fore!
