Out in the streets? No, but had to do a lot of fighting in the police academy/police officer training classes.  Obviously not exactly the same thing as a real fight, but conditions were simulated as closely as possible, and everyone understood to treat confrontations/fights as if they were a life or death situation.  Fighting in certain situations (someone on top of you while you're on the ground, and they're going for your gun; fighting after sprinting after someone for 3-5 minutes up and down stairs and through an obstacle course; fighting where you can't be the aggressor, only allowed to defend yourself, etc.)  I had to box against a Sheriff's Deputy who was about 6' 3" and 260 lbs-he hit me so hard one of my contacts flew out.  Wasn't fun, but extremely valuable.  They taught a lot of fighting technique, but the most important thing I took away was ferocity.  I'm not going to fight a stranger for fun or over something petty.  If I ever get in a fight it will be for a serious reason/self-defense and there's no half-assing it.  The other guy is going to regret it.

Who: Friend's boyfriend.

When: Last year (freshman year of college).

Where: Friend's boyfriend's house.

Why: Friend (who was using her boyfriend for his house that he was being kicked out of the next day) was all over me and I was drunk, so I wasn't going to not go for it, then her boyfriend (also drunk) saw, and got all pissy. I walked out to leave, was gonna take her to my place, then he came out, punched my friend's car, and wouldn't let her leave. He swung at me, missed, I hit him in the jaw, and he fell, then he tried to tackle me (I'm not small), and I slammed him against the brick wall. I took her with me.

Adrenaline dump, for sure.

I coulda sworn I left the cart right here......

I passed a small group of ninjas on the street a few years ago.  I gave them a nod of respect so subtle that it's possible they didn't see it, but hey it's me, they should have been paying attention.  Not one to stand for this insult I simply stood arms crossed, they got my meaning this time and readied themselves for battle.  I was planning on going hand for hand only until one ninja pulled out Kusari-Gama and I realized i needed something more substantial. I reached into my pocket and only had 8 inches of dental floss and a buffalo nickel.  I quickly took out the Ninja with the kusari-gama with a spinning buffalo nickel to the adams apple, The Ninja's outnumbered me and gave my fists and feet a tremendous beating with their heads and testicles.  Just wanting to show respect I didn't kill, only shamed.  I raised my arms in victory and gave a Klingon battle cry that Harry Potter himself would cower from.  Two blondes grabbed my arms and professed their undying love and devotion to me.  I took them home and had them cook me a steak, medium rare with sauteed mushrooms.

That was my one and only fight.....

When I was young (elementary school to college), I got into a few fights.  Haven't lost one.  Even busted a nose of one of my school mates and got suspended for few days.  After college, have not had any physical fights--just verbal sparring.

First fight was July 2006, some guy  started with my girl friends dad while he was sitting in a chair at a softball game, knocked gfs dad down right out of the chair. , so i took him down to the ground hit him a couple times and it got broken up. Nothing to write home about, but got me major cred with the family.

Most recent was may of last year, some tough guys, 4 or 5,  showed up uninvited to my buddies 21st birthday party at his house, started shit with a couple of my friends. Punched were thrown and a mele broke out. It was one of those ones where you just start throwing and ask questions later. It was stupid but fun.

Im not one to start fights, but ill jump in to help a friend, no questions asked.

Just the one, was about 16 and at boarding school so not even sure if it counts but it was quite amusing. Something had been stolen from my room and I asked around and turned out someone was lying to me about it. I asked the accused guy again and he lied, his defence was to insult my father for no particular reason. Got him in a headlock and just ended up socking him round the nose a few times, putting blood up the wall of the room I was in. He decided to give in after a few minutes and go clear himself up. I had to go wash a cut I got on my knuckles and was a bit late for my class (which was attended by the same student). The teacher asked why I was late and I told him I got into a fight with this other kid. A few of the spectators were in my class and one shouted, 'Fraser won!' which elicited a 'Good work' from my teacher! (This other kid wasn't too popular). About ten minutes later the other kid arrived in the class and the teacher stopped class and said, 'I heard you got into a spot of bother with Fraser this morning. Better luck next time!'. For me the whole situation was quite amusing because I never considered myself tough and neither did anyone else, if anything quite the opposite!

I'm not confrontational, you never know if someone's going to pull a knife or gun on you, or have fifteen heavies round the corner waiting to leave you in a pool of your own blood. In a small boarding school it's a more controlled environment, you at least know the capabilities of your opponents!

Not a one.  Not much to be said to a quiet 6'7" 235lb kid that keeps to himself.

Well, there was once at after-prom where a kid i hated challenged me to a "friendly" giant glove, bouncy castle boxing match but I'm not sure how much that counts.  Hammered him, knocked him down with a huge right hook and yelled "What now, B****?!?!" Then I realized everybody was staring at me so I quickly put the gloves down and went back to my girlfriend who was just laughing her head off.  Let the competitive spirit get the best of me a bit, and man it felt great!

Not too much of a fighter.

I used to have a bunch of friends in HS who loved pro wrestling.  I didn't know too much about it, and they loved to fight for fun and pulled me in.  I was put in a headlock and he didn't let up, when I realized this wasn't that silly and ended up tossing him sideways through the wall.  We didn't do much of that anymore after that.

OH, I was on a camping trip when I was maybe 13-14.  We were about to go home and were breaking down the campsite.  Everyone was ready to go except this one kid who had barely done anything.  Some of the kids thought it was funny to take his tent down with him inside and he got all pissed.  I was cracking up, he decided to take it out on me.  He started swinging like crazy.  I deflected most of them but he wasn't going to stop so I actually found a gap, threw a punch, and caught him in the jaw.  He went down stone cold and my first reaction was my jaw dropping, eyes wide, "Oh sh!t".  I was very relieved after a long 15 seconds to see him moving and scuttle off to go "tell on me".  Both our fathers were on the trip, I apologized as much as I could.  I felt so bad, but everyone told the same story and it wasn't really my fault.  Only punch I've thrown.

only certain areas if im honest though

the housing estate up from where i used to live suffered 3 murders in as many days due to drugland shootings that apparently had overspilled and escalated from Birmingham, although im sure it was just some punks trying be "from da ghetto blad innit"

no noise for a number of years now though, so think it was a one off

I don't recommend it.  It is like riding horses, do it often enough and you will eventually get thrown.  There is always a faster gun in town I don't recommend looking for him.

Not really recently. In elementary school we used to have fights at recess all the time. During our recess kickball or football games I went at it a few times...just like a couple pushes and punches before one of the monitors broke it up and put you on "the wall".

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Not since High School.  I'm not built for fighting and don't like it. The biggest, strongest jock bounced a basket ball on my face so I had to punch him, or take crap from everybody else....he took it like a joke. (I weighed 120 lbs)  This guy would steal cars to drive home.

Two big hoods  mugged me up in the bathroom where I didn't stand a chance. Later I tackled one of them and rode him down a flight of stone steps punching him. He quit school the next day. (I received 3 days in school suspension.)  The other was a crazy......I continued to run from him. That summer he tried to kill a cop with a knife.

No.......I don't miss high school.  (I was bussed in and didn't live in that town.)

3 lessons here.

1. I knew the basketball guy wasn't going to cream me.

2. The other one I would have to hurt really bad and did. (or be mugged every week)

3. Don't mess with somebody who will kill you.

PS: As a result - when some nut case goes bonkers on the golf course, screaming and breaking clubs. My high school survival instincts kick in and I get ready to hurt him bad if he tries to attack me. (not likely....but I get cold blooded anyway)

I forgot one. In another high school two brothers beat me up in the gym. Later I would pull one of them across a desk by his neck tie and punch him out. (I week in-school suspension. I was never lucky enough to get sent home and go surfing).

At this age 2 years makes a huge difference. One High School  bully jock who I avoided in self preservation later became a life-long friend in college.

"Throw a rock at a dog and he chases the rock. Throw a rock at a lion and he goes for you. Be a lion."  - old proverb

Wow, I never got in-school suspension in high school. All my fights were out-of-school for 3 days.

I coulda sworn I left the cart right here......
