I'm not one to talk about the specifics of Tiger's swing problems, but what do you guys think about Rocco's statements? I've heard a lot of negative about Tiger's current coach, Sean Foley, so I'm wondering if maybe Tiger will give Rocco a listen.

Rocco should send him a complimentary V-harness, maybe that will help. I don't recall Tiger, Sean or anyone having talked about his swing putting stress on the rest of his body. Nor do I see how it can be related to his swing issues. I think his hands still have to take some blame for his misses, and the fact that he is hitting the ball differently than before. He doesn't trust his new swing yet. But I don't think it'll hurt him physically. As long as he stays away from low branches.

As far as we know, Tiger hasn't actually injured himself aside from that awkward shot from the pine straw under the Eisenhower tree at Augusta.

Someone else said this but I like it.

Rocco gives the typical "dumb jock" answer to this whole thing. "Just swing like I do, see, simple." Except that it's not simple, and Rocco's lousy swing (of those on the PGA Tour, he's one of the worst ball strikers out there, with - again, for a PGA Tour pro - pretty bad low point control issues).

In general, I love the commentary from ANYONE on what it takes to be Tiger Woods, particularly in the past few years, and particularly love it from someone who is demonstrably as clueless about the golf swing as Rocco Mediate.

If Tiger is stays healthy, I expect to see some good golf in 2012 since it normally takes him ~12-18 months to get a new swing groved. Foley swing coaching is good enough (it might not fit Tiger but that is a different issue) to win on the tour. YTiger  If Tiger switched to Ballard it wouldn't expect Tiger to play well until 2013

Different swing styles stess the body different ways. I believe Rocco has a chronic bad back. Peter Jacobsen switched to a one plane method for this reason. I would bet that a big part of Tigers decision and swing choices they are making are based on what his body now allows him to do. Those who think he should go back to his swing of 10-12 years ago, should try to swing like they had the same body they had 12 years ago and see what happens? The abilty to adjust how you play as you age and remain competive is one of the things that makes golf special. I believe that is really wha Tiger is trying to do.

Rocco is one of my favorite golfers.  But a guy who came within a hairs breath of losing his card, and has battled back injuries his whole career, doesn't need to be giving one of the best golfers in history swing tips....

I didn't take Rocco's comments equating to him giving Tiger any kind of tips.

I think Rocco sincerely wants Tiger to get back to doing what he does best, and that's play better than anyone else in the world.  I think Rocco will be the first to admit he's not a position to give Tiger, or anyone else for that matter, swing tips.

I heard them talking with Rocco and he was saying how easy it would be to fix Tiger.  When the guys asked him how he would do it, he couldn't explain it.  He just kept saying, "I'll have to show you.  I can't explain it."  Come on Rocco....

Diagnosing Tiger is as common a topic of conversation as criticizing Congress.  It has gotten trite and boring.  Even I am bored with it.

From here on, when I feel a Tiger-critiquing mood coming on, I'll think of David Duval.

I don't mind when professional athletes speak their mind because too often, they spit out the same boring cliches over and over again.

I do however dislike when the speak their minds and lack facts or factual fixes to what they are ranting about and Rocco did this exact thing to perfection.

This is perhaps the funniest thing I have ever read. Some of the people on the Internet have literally zero idea what they are talking about. I read posts where some people start talking that Tiger is getting flatter and cannot hit the ball high anymore. It's quite amusing.

So I guess there is only one person qualified to give Tiger advice under this logic...Jack!  Rocco is one of my favorites too for his personality.  I would definitely want him in my foursome. The only thing that bothered me about the article was at the end when Rocco supposedly said, "When he gets his stuff together, he'll be No. 1 again and everything will be back to normal."  That was good for a laugh.

    • I get kidney stones. So 100 oz of water every day. Some nights I drink 32oz between midnight and 6 Am. Which means I dont sleep much.
    • 46 (9 over) Short game and putts were awful!
    • 46+40 for an 86. I just need to play 9 holes on the range before each round. 🤣🤣🤣
    • I don’t measure my intake either. I generally have a black coffee, a bottle of soda, some sweet tea at home, and anything in between is water. An ice cold bottle of water is one of my favorite things. It feels like an immediate refresher for my body. I’ll admit that I need to drink a little more though.
    • For such a nice membership, there have been some bad incidents in the past few years.  We had someone voted out a couple of years ago over something he did and he harassed the board members for three months until he moved out of the area.   Generally they’ve tried to do things like tournament handicaps and identify certain people who they know should be lower and adjust it somehow.  I can understand not wanting to go thru something like the guy who was voted out again i emailed the pro who forwarded it to the handicap committee.  They are going to see what can be done.  I walked someone thru what happened and they are going to nudge him to post the score from the match and see what he does.  Since he didn’t put anything in the electronic scoring past 13, based on how he played 14 and 15 plus having to take bogey on 16-18 for after he left, he should post 83.  We’ll see if it’s even higher,   Since he was really even thru 13, then doubled 14 and parred 15 my guess is he really shot 75 being generous and giving him 2 pars and a bogey on the three holes he didn’t play.    i shot 88, getting 16 shots for my course handicap which is net even and I lost on 13.  We do brackets where handicaps should be within 4-5 of each other.  Most matches only have 1-2 shots as a difference between players  neither of us posted the score yet.  There was something in the match play rules about whether or not to post your score.  I couldn’t remember if we were supposed to or not.  I don’t think he was going to post that, because even with his inflated score it would be the lowest score in his recent 20. Lucky I didn’t because they want to see what he does post and they don’t want me posting so he can try to calibrate his score.
