... to me, I'd rather top a drive than to shank a greenside chip.      I practice chipping more than any other shot (only because the backyard is available) & am usually pretty solid, but more often than I like to admit, I dead shank a chip & it goes at an exact right angle to the line its supposed to ... NOTHING GRINDS MY GEARS MORE THAN THAT - UGH !!!!

You ?

Nothing more frustrating to me than screwing up an easy chip.  Wasted opportunities!

To hit a tee shot OB, or somewhere that I can't find it and hit it again. I figure I'm never out of a hole as long as I can hit it again.

Ditto! This is by far the most frustrating thing to me when golfing, followed by missing a short putt.

It has to be a tie between duffing a chip shot and hitting a 20-30 yard pitch shot fat...both eat me up inside!

My philosophy on golf "We're not doing rocket science, here."

Yup, this one.  When I chunk a chip it only costs me 1 shot, but when I hit a drive into "bolivian" ;) it costs 2.  (Actually more like 2.5 because I'm usually scared or angry and lacking a little concentration on the provisional and hit it less than stellarly as well.)

I agree on the fat shot. the 20-40 yard pitch shot that ends up 10-5 yards short of the green makes me mad. mostly because i know why i did it and how to not do it, but some how it still happens. leaving a ball in the sand can be really frustrating too.

Roughly 60 yards out.. 52* wedge in my hand..

Game plan: 75% swing, pinch the ball tight, land it slightly long with backspin.. (in practice i feel like i can do this 95/100 times)..

However, on the course the % is never that high!.. I either:  a) skull it 15 yards long  or   b) hit behind the ball causing a chunk

I think it's all in my head at this point!

Being 10' off the green  with 20' left to the pin (thinking make it or having a tap-in left) and end up blading it across the green or peeking & advancing the ball a couple of feet or less.

It's not very often, but once in a blue moon I'll get lazy and lay the hosel into a short iron.   That'll get into your head for the rest of the round too.   Ugh......!

Piss Poor chip shot, i hate it, drives me up the wall, my number 1 destroyer of a good round. I can be 10 yards from the green and waste 6 shots, its absurd.

I'll be the oddball here.  I hate it when I crush a drive right down the middle on a reachable par 5 and it leaves me 3 wood out and I try to crush it so bad I either top it 50 yrds or pull it into crap.

Absolutely! Played last weekend and was 4 over after 7 when the wedge just totally disappeared. Hit 11 fairways, nice fairway woods and irons but fought that damn wedge all day and ended up with a 97. :(

my get up and go musta got up and went..

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
