The other thread has become a bit angry, so I wanted to start something a bit more lighthearted.

A lot of team name reflect something about the city they are based in. So how about:

The Washington Gridlocks

The Washington Monuments

or

The Washington Washingtons.

Any more suggestions?

I more or less stopped reading the other thread. Did someone suggest changing the mascot to a potato? Alternately, I would enjoy seeing the Fat Cats in Washington.

I always kinda liked the sound of changing the first part of the name from "Washington" to "D.C." Just looks cooler to me. I don't really have any good nickname ideas though.

Good point. I also heard the Delta and United employees at LaGuardia staged a protest to change the New York Jets.
