It’s almost like when Koepka wants to win, he wins. And if he doesn’t win, he’s damn close. When was the last time he played a tournament where he probably wanted to win really bad and laid an egg? I guess the ‘18 Open but even then he rebounded after an awful start. 15 million reasons to motivate him this week so yoI know he’s all in.

The 2019 Masters.

He finished 2nd. That’s not laying an egg.

Again, didn’t say he “always wins” when he wants to win, but he seems to either win or come damn close.

To Koepka it is. If he wants to win and doesn’t , he laid an egg. He dunked a ball into the water on the final stretch at The Masters. Egg.

No disrespect, but you are calling out Brooks Koepka for laying an egg by finishing second at the Masters from behind a keyboard.

Brooks is a stud so I really doubt you would say that directly to his face.  Not even DeChambeau is that stupid.

That's not what @Vinsk is saying. He's saying from Koepka's point of view, because his goal is to win the major, not winning is considered a failure.

That's ridiculous. Because he's golf big people should be afraid to say words to his face? What's he going to do, hit someone for pointing out that he didn't win the 2019 Masters?

Some people here seem to personally know Brooks perspective, But I can’t recall him ever saying he laid an egg for not winning the Masters.  I think he said Tiger played good.

I would guess he was pretty ticked (you can use any other appropriate word) and used maybe more than a few expletives with his water shot and missed putts, but laying an egg?

With all due respect, I made my living as a pit fighter for many years. Trained in Kickboxing and MMA as well. Brooks I can handle. You’re being silly though as you totally missed my point as it was pointed out. I simply answered the question as had Brooks ever laid an egg ( not win as Brooks sees it) when he wanted to win. Brooks has made it clear he plays to win majors first and foremost. He was in second place and laid an egg on 12 and cost him that win. Relax.

He seems to at least be expanding his horizons now to try and win WGCs and FedEx Cups...not just majors. Maybe one day he’ll take the 3M Championship seriousl....ehhh...maybe not.

Schauffele pulled a rabbit out of his hat on 17 and 18 to get to -11.  I saw him on Feherty the other day.  Nice kid.

Today seemed like a Saturday.  I think the pairings based on score helps with the intensity.

I like the competition between the top players with the new format.  But it does eliminate half the field from any contention.  Except for the highlights, such as Reavie’s hole In one, it is as if no one else is playing.  Then again they just have to show up to get $500k.

In retrospect, if they do get 30 holes in tomorrow, it may be a blessing that Tiger missed going to East Lake.  He would have started a lot of strokes out of the lead, and playing 25+ holes on Sunday would be brutal on his body.

Such a tease a few hours ago.  I put on the TV and heard that Tiger has a real chance to win this thing.  I thought I had given up on his chances to win the Fed Ex Cup almost a week too soon.  Sadly, I discovered it was a replay of last year's final round, which I enjoyed re-watching.

What is the purpose of rectangular hole in lake on 11th hole at East Lake?

Overflow/drainage/water cycling.

That walk up 18 was better than anything we’ll see this year.  I loved re-watching Rory’s reaction to the enormous crowd following Tiger.  That whole sequence was so surreal.

At the TC? Yes.

Tiger at Augusta was better than the ‘18 TC. 😉

Stack System’s marketing materials inflate apparent swing speed and distance gains through selective presentment of data without qualification that purported gains are not the result, in whole or part, of its training protocol and products. * Yes, I'm joking about abbreviating both "SS." SuperSpeed wants: A judgment that the Stack System has disseminated false and/or misleading information in violation of federal and Illinois law. The deletion of all false advertising distributed and recall of all packaging containing false advertising and a requirement that Stack System issue notices (written or otherwise) to that effect to all current distributors and retailers of its products and all distributors with whom Stack System has done business in the past eighteen months. Written confirmation within 30 days of an injunction detailing the manner and form in which Stack System has complied. An order that Stack System disseminate corrective advertising informing consumers, the trade, and the public of Stack System’s unlawful conduct. 3X all profits received by Stack System as a result of its unlawful actions. 3X all damages sustained by SuperSpeed (as a result of Stack System’s actions) The cost of the action All reasonable attorney fees All other relief to which SuperSpeed are entitled and such other or additional relief as just and proper. Oy.
    • I'm not doing this for the hundred and twentieth time. Sorry in advance, but you get the massively abridged version. Those guys also benefited from the weaker/shallower fields. Also, Watson's career doesn't overlap with Jack's like many think it did. Tom is nearly a decade younger. Jack won only like four majors only after Tom won his first. And Tom won more British Opens than he did all three of the other majors combined, as it was his specialty (not Jack's). Arnie's career similarly doesn't overlap Jack's as much as many think.   Jack would also tell you Tiger was the better golfer.
    • Weaker depth of fields for sure. Some of the top level guys with Jack were pretty awesome. Tom Watson had the lead on the 72nd hole of the 2009 British Open, an event where Tiger missed the cut. Old Tom was almost 60 years old. Jack himself at age 58 finished Top 10 at The 1998 Masters and scored better than Tiger, who won The Masters by 12 shots just a year before that.   The success of both Tom & Jack in older age gives some hope that maybe Tiger can find the magic again at some point. He’s still trying to figure out how to build the stamina for 72 holes after the leg injury. I would love to see him jump on the leaderboard in the coming years. I know a lot of people have given up on him at this point, but that was also true from 2014 to 2017 with the back injuries. He had a hell of a resurgence in 2018 & 2019. Would be fun to see it again.
    • Perceptive rules question by caddie unlocks Tour pro’s ‘dead zone’ relief A perceptive rules question by Xander Schauffele’s caddie, Austin Kaiser, unlocked “dead zone” relief during the Wells Fargo Championship.
    • I ran across an interesting new clip, Johnson Wagner went into that spot with the Referee who allowed the relief.  Apparently there was a perfectly reasonable shot to be made, as Johnson clearly demonstrated, so relief from the TIO was perfectly appropriate.
