How did the person record the video, but then need to record their screen to post the video?

I also don't think the rope moved so much he would have missed it either way…

Is Bryson also a professional soccer player? Geesh.

Looks like it did.  Looks like his caddie raised the rope and, just as Bryson went to duck under it, his caddie released the rope, and it sprang down just far enough for Bryson to catch it just under the bill of his cap, rather than just over.

Caddie obviously never spent any time in the woods with friends.  You quickly learn to be careful when and how you release springy things you push out of the way when their are others nearby.

I guess you've never caught a small branch or rope in the eye? I've had them both happen.  The former from walking in the woods with people that don't know how it's done with others following and the latter while sailing.

It's very painful and can disturb the vision in that eye for a good long while.

Imagine you're competing in a professional tournament and the vision in one of your eyes was just painfully impaired.

That's why I said he wouldn't have missed it, not that it wouldn't have hit the top of the bill of his cap.

Fair enough.  No, he wouldn't have missed it, either way.

Right, so he could have ducked down farther and saved himself. He was cutting it close, particularly since a rope is not a known fixed item.

When stepping OVER a rope, I either step ON it or I make sure to give it a really wide berth, lest it move slightly or I misjudge slightly and trip.

Same logic applies here, I feel.

Can't argue with your reasoning, @iacas.  He could have saved himself the grief by not making the assumption I suspect he did--that the caddie would hold the rope until he'd cleared it.

Caddie didn't realize BDC was figuring/expecting he would hold the rope up till they both passed through. You can hear BDC going "WTF guys" as if 'the guys' didn't do their jobs in holding up rope for His Majesty.

Of course I have. But I didn’t collapse to the ground and cry ‘ No!’ when asked if I’m ok. He’s a Pansy. Period.

It would have been funnier if the caddy stepped on the rope and released it just as BD was stepping over. FWWWAAAAPPP!

I hear Bryson’s agent is going to sue to find out if Jay Monahan used the Tour’s private jet to fly in and set this up.  According to a rumor that I am currently starting.

I recognize that Bryson behavior as something I like to call “I’m actually more mad than hurt, but I’m too much of a chicken to do anything so I’m gonna make this seem worse than it is”

No, it's a dig by the "PGA TUOR".

That's not the PGA TOUR.

    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
    • This is my opinion as well. I would love to see the LPGA take the lead on this.    This.
    • I agree in general. The one way in which the viewer will notice the pace of play is just that "it's been an hour and Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler have only played four holes." Or if for some reason they show a lot of shots of players just standing around when they could be showing golf shots. But I think Andy Johnson said it most recently/best, playing fast is a skill, too. I would love for pro golfers to play faster. You'd see the players you want to see hit more shots in the same time than they do now. So I don't disagree with the pace of play stuff, and hope they can find ways to do it. Heck, the LPGA should leap at the chance to differentiate itself in this way, IMO. So: I stand by what I said in that the TV viewer really doesn't notice much about pace of play. It's rare when they do. I support increasing the pace of play wholeheartedly. But my top five reasons don't include TV ratings or viewership.
