Last year during a tournament, the scorecard of the guy in my group whose scorecard I was responsible for, flew out of the cart (I wasn't driving so I couldn't use the holder on the steering wheel) and into a puddle, ruining the card.  That was on the third hole and I was pissed at myself for the rest of the round.  This year, for tournaments, I'm going with a scorecard holder and I'm curious to know what, if anything, other than the scorecard and pencil do you keep in the holder?  Course info?  Swing thoughts?  Motivational crap?  Something else?

I’ve been thinking about getting a scorecard holder. My pants tend to get pretty sweaty, and the card likes to fly out of my back pocket, so I’ve resorted to putting the card in my bag a few times (like an animal). Not sure what I’d put in it besides a card and a pencil though.

I've got a couple of inexpensive faux-leather ones. I usually put the card on my push cart, but will use the holder if it is raining or windy.

I am also thinking about getting a scorecard holder. I have been doing some research online and would like to hear what others are using.

There are tons on eBay and Amazon. Many are really inexpensive too.

I bought one on Amazon last year. As far as I can tell, they all seem about the same with regards to functionality.

Since I started using the holder, I also started noticing that every golf course seems to vary the size, orientation, and layout of their scorecards, which requires some creative folds/tears to get the card to sit in the holder with the relevant information easy to access.

One of those 8" X 5" inch clipboards works well. I've seen them for $0.99 at the local dollar store.

It hangs on my trolley/bag, or rides on seat of the cart for the passenger. What ever else it does, It doesnt allow the score card to blow away.

I used to use an old chequebook cover/wallet; now I just use my yardage book cover.

Ive never used a holder, but ive always thought about getting one. For tournaments where caddies aren't required, i usually kept my scorecards in the valuables pocket on the bag im using. I filled it out on the next tee while im waiting for everyone else to hit. The new titleist stand bag i use now has a range finder pocket in a convenient location and i put them in there now.  Otherwise, ive had my caddie keep it in his bib. Ive never had a problem with the scorecard holder on most golf carts if im using that.

    • 100% go get fitted. If your ball speed and spin is too low, you will need clubs to compensate for you.  Most set ups are like Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, irons, wedges or Driver, 3-wood, hybrid, irons, wedges. For people who struggle with distance, I would say something like Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood or hybrid, hybrid, irons, wedges are good because woods and hybrids really help get good gaps. I think people with higher swing speeds like long irons more. That could be more personal preference.  I like woods and hybrids over long irons. I have never been a good long iron player. I have been thinking of revamping my bag to be more like... Driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood (maybe hybrid) and make 5 iron my longest iron. It has been the longest iron I hit the most consistent. When I was using Game Golf years ago, my 4 iron average distance was about my 5 iron distance because of all the mishits.  There is that as well, just tracking which clubs you like to use. My dad has like 2 fairway woods and 2 hybrids. They are designed to help get the ball in the air and land softly.
    • I signed up with Evolvr again on April 16th to try and get me straightened out. So far, so good.  We basically just started over at the basics (which had gotten off, to no surprise). The first issue was my setup was too far into the heels and I needed to bend over more to get the arms in a better position. I also made some grip changes as the club was more into the palm than I felt like it was.  We then moved from there to getting correct pelvis movement. I "thought" I had a pretty good turn but video shows that I was actually moving toward the ball immediately from the start of the takeaway. I have been working on starting the take away with a more lateral move away from the target and getting the hips moving at a 45* angle across my foot instead of just spinning out immediately. A good thought is that I continue to move them laterally the entire time which gets my butt back as I turn as well.  I am also focusing on turning into my right leg more instead of allowing the right let to turn which allows my hip to turn too far. And one last thing is that I need to allow the club to continue at the top instead of it laying off so much.   Several different things that I have worked on in stages, but does feel so much better.  The main things at this moment are making the moves more fluid (I am currently still thinking them through as I am swinging) and getting the new feels of each position. I am extremely happy with the progress so far. I am going to add my videos here as well to get my swing thread going again and for the swing notes.  The 5/6/25 videos were my last submission so I have not started working on turning into the right leg here Oh and @iacas, I did move my net over 🤣. I have NO CLUE why that had never crossed my mind....But I do have a left handed player that moves it around as well. My initial swing videos
    • I use different clubs with different swing lengths. Especially at those distances.
    • Day 220 - 2025-05-08 Had a rescheduled lesson on a work day otherwise, so got some practice in while listening to my Alison playlist a bit too loudly. 😉
    • Decent practice round today to get ready for final tournament of the season this weekend.  4 over front 9 and 7 over back 9 with only pars and bogeys
