I was sent here by the Saudis in 2011 to prepare for this moment.

Wow, never mentioned you, and you don't fit the low number of messages nor the only posting about LIV I mentioned, but by all means wrap yourself with the mantle of victimhood.

It's like a Carly Simon song, simply replacing the word song with post, LOL.

Like who, specifically?

@jshots is not included there.

@GolfSwami, though, yeah. Sure.

He's literally only posted in this topic. And he's likely using an AWS VPN.

Yeah, @GolfSwami is specifically who I had in mind, and I think there were other up thread.  I was OBVIOUSLY not talking about @jshots since he fits neither of the criteria I mentioned.

Not sure how that joke comment is wrapping myself in victimhood but you are the antitrust law expert so I will defer to your authority.

I guess this is the thread to put this in, read a rumor that the PGA Tour might be guaranteeing 500K to exempt players. So if one makes 100K for the year, he gets 400K. Will have to wait for details after meeting is over.

It's the nature of posting text only, I guess.  Sarcasm, mood, tone, etc don't always come through to the reader like you imagine it when writing.  (I know this very well first hand :))

For the record, I read your "Saudi" post as a tongue-in-cheek joke, so it wasn't a total miss. 🍻

The Wall Street Journal is reporting LIV Golf players need permission to grant exclusive interviews and agree to help...

From the article:

“It also says LIV golfers can play anywhere in the world provided it isn't the same week as a LIV Golf event. Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland missed the Irish Open this year because it was the same week as LIV Golf Invitational-Portland.”

wow, that sounds familiar.  If players signed this, which is similar to PGA Tour regulations, then whining about suspensions just went next level.   Not to mention anti-trust concerns.

A draft contract to play for Saudi-funded LIV Golf includes clauses that require players be available to recruit other players to the league and to get permission before granting exclusive...

Uuummmm….isn’t this what Mickelson called Obnoxious Greed?

The newspaper said the draft contract indicates players broadly sign away their media rights from LIV events, similar to PGA Tour regulations.”

I get that LIV is paying them a lot more, so maybe they think it’s a better deal.  The Judge also stated that the LIV contracts are more restrictive than PGA Tour ones.

I mean just look into the cameras and say “it’s a money grab and I don’t care who pays me”.  That’s the only explanation as all the others have been debunked from the LIV talking points.

except growing the game.   But the game is Phil Mickelson’s nickname for his bank account

I started to post this in the US Amateur thread, but don't want to derail that discussion with LIV....but I was absolutely shocked to see David Puig in there after competing in multiple LIV events.  Turns out, he has not accepted any prize money or contract money from LIV in order to keep his amateur status.

Makes for an interesting case, since by playing in those tournaments, he forfeit his chance to join Korn Ferry or another PGA Tour Umbrella tour through NCAA standings.  But he's not accepting money from LIV, presumably to return to school for his senior year, so he doesn't have income or a long term future with LIV either.

It may be deferred until he turns pro. Wink wink.

Also, I feel like this does more to show why LIV shouldn't get OWGR. Chase moves up 589 spots? Another guy moves up 660? No thank you.

    • Very interesting stuff. My one thought that popped out at me is about Scottie Scheffler and the molded grip 7 iron. I would think the chance that it's one of the random ones you can buy from PGA Tour superstore or what have you is very unlikely. I would be astounded if that wasn't done custom for his exact grip, putting it rather out of reach of most of us. The thing about the foam rolling was very interesting. It's not something I've ever done before a lesson at the venue. If I'm feeling stiff or sore, I might do something with a foam roller at home, although even that is unlikely.
    • Well, I am not surprised since the departure of Koepka and Reed.  Also Mickelson taking hiatus from golf hasn't helped any - albeit he is not much of a needle mover these days. Surprising is LIV hasn't offered any contract extension to Bryson as he seems to be the only marquee player they have at the moment.  Oh wait there is Dustin, Sergio, and ???  But these two guys haven't been doing much lately anyway.
    • Day 7, April 15.   I was so excited about the pelvis turn drills that I didn't work on the hip rotation drill from my latest Skillest lesson (oops!).  I worked on that today, using a cereal box.  I also continued to do some pelvis turn drills, in part because I'm doing some of it with all practice balls hit, and I wanted to hit some balls this morning too.
    • I was hoping to find an image of my Edel Putter in my swing thread here. I found the video of the 1st tee shot at Moon Valley from 2015.  Whooo man, that backswing, 🤣 Man, I had faster hips and more mobile hips back then. I could get the hips open prior to impact.
