60 mph winds on the PA TPK, and 90 minutes of lake effect blizzard in NW PA. Got home about an hour ahead of iacas. Amazing what us addicts will do for some off-season golf! Good to see everyone again.

The album is up, and everyone who was there should be able to add to it:

I've only put the one image in there for now (a panorama). Here's what I'd ask of everyone:

  • Edit your images. This could mean cropping, touching up (white balance, levels), reducing the size to maybe 2000 x 2000 limits, JPEG compression of 60 or 70… something to keep the file sizes down.
  • Not posting too many duplicates. Just choose the best one of a bunch of similar photos.
  • If you can, post your movie files to YouTube as one clip, and post that video in the topic.
  • Feel free to download images of others.

I posted my pics.  Unsurprisingly (to @iacas or anyone who's golfed with me), I couldn't remember which hole most of them were, so I just named them "RNK".

I love that you can literally see the splash when I hit it.  I was completely covered in mud after that one...there was simply nowhere to take relief.

      Sorry, I will disagree. You got a penalty because you hit it somewhere and didn't want to play it from there. Bunkers are not the general area. If you had hit it into temporary water in the general area, you'd be entitled to relief. You hit it into a hazard, a bunker. Why should you get free relief when you hit it into a bunker? If someone else hit it into a different part of the bunker, without water, they'd not get a drop for free out of the bunker. Heck, it'd cost them two strokes if they didn't have an ACC and wanted to drop it out of the bunker.

      I love golf, but we have some really dumb rules. Like this one, you get a penalty stroke because it rained.

      No. If there was a place no closer to the hole that afforded some relief, you could have dropped there. If you were truly as far away from the hole as you could, in the "back" of the bunker, then… your options were basically to play it as it lies (lied? lay?) or take the penalty stroke and drop behind the bunker (keeping the point where the ball was between your drop and the hole).
