I'm not really sure what's worse. Designing a golf course with houses that close to a tee box or actually buying the house in the first place.

There are way too many golf courses with no houses to have to resort to playing those places.

In the homeowners defense, normally a house on a tee box is a fairly safe location. 

Obviously she is an avid player, you can tell from the persimmon fairway wood she is hitting.

Yes, the house, by odds, shouldn't have been hit, but when you purchase on a golf course you're going to get these problems. I witnessed a somewhat similar situation some years back a guy pull hooked one off the first tee, with numerous people were watched as they waited for their tee time, crash through a window. Everybody watching went silent in anticipation of where the ball would impact, and it went right through a back yard window with a crash you could hear from what it seemed a mile away. It had to give the poor guy the most humiliating feeling.

I always wonder if people who purchase homes on a golf course are golfers themselves.  If you play the game you know about errant shots (talkin' to you Vinsk) so why would you ever buy a house in reach of an errant shot?!  Though I have friend with a house at Sahalee... 50 yards behind a green on a par 4.  He's never been hit.  Otherwise you're living in an arcade game.

Perhaps, but even just looking down the left side of that video bugs me. That fence is what? 12 feet off the fairway. Guess it sort of looks like a par-3, but that's definitely asking for it.

Trees are overrated. I hate water hazards, but houses on or alongside golf courses are the worst ever.

I owned a house on a golf course for several years.  Being a golfer I knew the possibility.  But it was located well behind and right of the 4th green and well behind and left of the fifth tee box (tips).

I can answer a couple of questions from above posts.  Yes I play and knew it was possible to lose a window or tile off the roof.  But the location was such that didn't ever happen, losing a window, and maybe I found a half dozen balls a year in my back yard.  Also to purchase the house I was required to sign a paper that I was aware of the possibility of errant shots and waive liability of the course for that event.  This, according to my lawyer buddy, does not relieve the course or golfer from gross negligence.   Insurance for the home was higher than one located across the street and not adjacent to the course. 

Well I enjoyed the view and was amazed at how many players played the tips that clearly didn't belong there.  Been awhile but thing the slope on this course from the tips was over 130.
