I’m kinda done with PM. He’s becoming a John Daly in that he’s making an ass of himself more than playing competitive golf.

Yes, it was. Sorry. I did edit the score but at the time I posted I was still trying to count his strokes in my head and missed one. I enjoy watching these blowup holes for the pros because I can relate. Watching him slide that 60 (or maybe I should say, "less than driver", 😁) under the ball looked just like something I would do!

The announcer also mentioned that Kuchar is 10th (I think it was) on the money list with 54 million and that Michelson is second with 92 million. That pretty much ended my relating to pro golfers, though!

He's like a game show - entertainment for the masses, these days. Still, with his lifetime golf income, I do wish he'd adopt me...

No worries - I saw your post and took a quick look at the leaderboard that was up on my computer and saw he had a 10 on one hole, and wasn't sure if maybe he also had a 9 somewhere else.

Well that certainly explains his hesitancy to throw that caddie in Mexico a respectable bone.

Lol - I've never been a Phil fan, just because I was a Tiger fan, and Phil always seemed to be the closest competition. But I did enjoy watching him play. I also enjoyed watching him take high risk (or possibly just poor decision making) shots, like the 2012 Masters on #4, and 2006 US Open at Wingfoot on #18. Lately though, the whole hitting bombs, calves of Adonis, aviator sunglasses, coffee sipping, social media personality seems manufactured, and I've decided I don't like it. I'm sure Phil himself is an okay person.

Also, he always seems to be in a featured group on PGA Tour Live, when there are better players I would rather watch.

I’ve watched the DVR 5 times and I’m still not coming up with 10.

Shot 1: Tee

Shot 2: fairway, 269 yards from hole. Lands in penalty area.

Shot 3: relief, drop in fairway.

Shot 4: stroke from fairway, lands short and rolls back into penalty area.

Shot 5: stroke in penalty area, wedge glides under ball.

Shot 6: stroke in penalty area, ball hops onto rough, rolls back onto boulder, then down onto rocks in creek bed.

Shot 7: relief from penalty area, drop in fairway.

Shot 8: stroke from fairway, lands on green.

Shot 9: 1-putt into hole.

Where did I miss a stroke?

The leaderboard/scorecard on the website for the tournament shows it as a 10, but I didn't see it live. I think Phil was in a featured group today, so I might try to FFW through the PGA Tour Live replay and see if I can find it.

I have to agree with most of this. But you left out his appearance in Tin Cup.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

  2. Shot 2 273 yds to water, 46 ft 8 in. to hole
  3. Shot 3 PenaltyDrop in left intermediate, 70 ft 4 in. to hole
  4. Shot 4 47 ft 8 in. to right rough, 24 ft 4 in. to hole
  5. Shot 5 5 in. to right rough, 24 ft 3 in. to hole
  6. Shot 6 5 in. to right rough, 24 ft 1 in. to hole
  7. Shot 7 5 ft 7 in. to rock outline, 28 ft 11 in. to hole

Here's what it looked like - notice they call it a 9, too. Confused me when I was trying to count them up and type on here.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
