Hmmmm.

Given the further information I've read, I'd hate to see two lives lost to this. And I still have not and will not watch the video.

I’ve not watched it either, I have friends  whose cousin played in the NHL. I think  I will ask what his view of this is but have no desire to watch it.

It’s pretty standard procedure for police investigations isn’t it? It doesn’t mean that charges will be pressed.

I absolutely believe that a full investigation should happen. I am with @iacas, I refuse to watch the video. I already hate watching replays of stuff like broken ankles, legs, arms. I will look away if a TV will start that slow motion replay.

I have trouble watching the videos of idiots getting their bell rung doing crazy stuff on skateboards, etc. and thus I also have no desire to watch this video which I assume is far worse.

As hard as it is to admit that anyone playing for a Pittsburgh sports organization isn't evil incarnate, I'll have to give Crosby his credit.

In his 19th year and he's over a point-per-game so far;. Everything I've heard says he's a pretty good guy to.

In a lot of ways, the Daigle saga transformed the rules and structure surrounding the NHL draft and rookie contracts.

Happened to see this as I was rolling through the news this morning.

Always sort of amusing how much certainty people seem to have that a top draft pick is going to be the next legend. See it in both my favorite sports, hockey and football.

What I had forgotten is that Daigle actually had a half decent career by any normal standard. 616 games and 327 points would have been just fine for nearly anyone else.

There's not been a lot of activity in this thread, clearly, but this is a pretty exciting time for hockey fans in Washington DC.  Alexander Ovechkin is a hat trick away from becoming the leader in goals scored.  I know the national media are also making it a big deal, and it really is.  I can certainly remember when Gretsky's record seemed unreachable, and now Ovechkin passing it seems inevitable.  My wife will be at the game tonight, cheering for the caps, but cheering for Ovechkin, maybe even more.

And Sidney Crosby, the far better player, has already surpassed Gretzky's record by having 20 seasons of averaging over a point a game. 😄  (And there were I think two seasons where Wayne was 1.0, while Crosby has been > 1 every year of the 20.)

P.S. Malkin still has more points per game than Ovechkin. 😄

Yeah, longevity/durability count for quite a lot.  Another thing I remember from Ovechkin's early days, some commentators thought he'd never last, given his willingness to make big hits in the open ice.  It was a bit like "goal scorers score, checkers check, he can't do both for long".

He's a durable guy, but I think he's done a bit less of that. Used to launch himself and leave his feet 3x a game. Especially against other Russians.

It helps that he's played nearly 20% fewer playoff games than Crosby, too. 😉

I'm never going to argue against Crosby, the more I've watched him, the more impressed I am.

    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
    • Yes, but you don't live in the UK, so you have no idea what we think about it here. It's a very different mindset here, to demonstrate the fact you should consider 9 out of 10 games we play here are Stableford, whereas you you almost solely play medal. Neither is right or wrong, it's just different  I'm trying to avoid swearing here. Once again, and for the 1000th time, I understand the system, I just don't agree with it. Is there anything wrong with that? PS, I do not have the time or patience to post my results, especially as they prove nothing  That's because 99% of the posters are Yanks
