They should retitle this event to the "Phoenix No Drunk Management Open". Good grief! Sam Ryder gets a hole-in-one on the 15th and it takes them 15 or 20 minutes to pick up all the beer cans tossed onto the green and surrounding area. It was a great shot but, really? They can't cheer a player without tossing everything that isn't bolted down on to the course? A drunken spectacle, is what it is...

I'm pulling for Theegala. Go, new guy! Oops! Wife just made me pick up my beer can...

If only more people were familiar with the "Thin man" movies or had read The Sand Pebbles.  They would , at least, appreciate the concept of a well crafted drunk.

Of all the events in the West coast swing, I only know of one event that people from here travel every year to see, Waste Management Open. I think golf needs more events like this.

It’s one hole per year. It’s not my jam but lighten up.

Well if it was Bud Light, I can see why they tossed their cans! I wonder what it smelled like when Horschel and Bubba were putting in the next group. 😜

I am glad the WM is the way it is.  I am glad it is the only one that is the way it is.

Well shoot!, I'm gonna do that because I definitely want to know if them Phoenix drunks are well crafted as opposed to your average poorly crafted drunk.! Of course, it may have just been some of that there "legitimate golf discourse".

I don't remember all the trash coming out in previous years. I guess it is this "younger generation" that gets blamed for everything. Fiscally irresponsible - tossing $8 beers 🙂.

* Historians have long noted that the older generation felt like the future is hopeless based on the actions of the upcoming generation.

Regardless of how "unruly" people got, I would love to be there and be part of the crowd for the hole in one celebration! The two that I have witnessed were not attended by such a rowdy celebration.

As the golfers do not care that they have to wait for the green to be cleaned up for their shots, or they might be walking in beer soaked grass, then I do not care. The PGA tour players are the ones who have to play and accept the actions of the fans by not objecting to it.

It’s one hole, and looks like one hell of a party! People are throwing ten dollar beers like they are peanuts. That’s gotta be some big concession money being made!

    • Day 323 - Opposite of yesterday, focusing more on taking a full backswing than anything else.
    • Day 139: worked on putting for a while. Did the two cups drill for bead.
    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
