If she's at peace with it, I am too. But man, I also still wish she had become the great golfer she looked to be. It would have driven massive interest in women's golf.

I am of the opinion that she did open some eyes when she came along as at 14-year old who moved the ball 280+ with a graceful swing.. i.e, it wasn't not necessary to have the grunt strength of a Laura Davies. 

Lot of ladies now move the ball and I am sure Wie's ability to do so has something to do with it. Now about that putting stance tho.. ha. 

Wie was always a much more multifaceted personality (her serious interest in art and clothing for example..) than let's say, the insular golf focused mind of someone like Tiger. I am sure she has to have some regrets being the talent she was/is but IMO the 'what if' may not burning the hole in her own heart as some others who rightfully had more expectations. 

Of the favorite moments in OP, for me it was her US Open win at Pinehurst. She did get to the peak that week. The win was complete. She wasn't simply about banging the ball out there but a true shot maker. 

I am sure motherhood has more than filling the gap for her. Wishing her all the best!

And vice captain for Solheim Cup. Most likely a captain in 2 or 4 years. Creamer most likely to follow suit.

It's the only major (except some of Tiger's) that I think I've ever called before tournament week.

I mean, maybe she'll play when she's 49 to get ready for some 50-year-old golf like Annika has done… Which is actually the next paragraph. It starts like: "She won’t call it a retirement" and then includes the same Annika type mention. But that's still what I'd call a retirement from the LPGA.

That's too bad.  Like so many of you, I was really hoping she'd succeed beyond what she has.  I remember how excited I was the first time she made the cut in an otherwise-men's event.

Wordle spoiler alert - reminds me of the day our expressed his dilemma at the day’s Wordle only to tell us what the word was.  My wife jokingly posted she got on the first try, later fessing that she had assistance.  
 

Always liked watching her play, but it looks like she is wanting a more familial balance and who can blame her.  She made her mark on the game, now she gets to be a business mom that does not mean being on the tour literally being evaluated on every swing of the club.  Will be interesting to see how she fairs at Pebble next year - any thoughts on a “warm-up” event?

She was the biggest name in LPGA. She got her major. Didn’t live up to the hype. Hell of a player. Good for her.
