Maltbie has covered golf for NBC Sports since 1992. Koch joined full-time in 1997.

I mean, Gary made one call in his life that stands out, and Maltbie is most famous for saying "he's dead here, no shot" right before the player hits it to 15 feet. So…

Anyone who listens to NLU gets the pleasure of hearing it several times a week.

I think that televised golf can certainly be livened up with some new blood. Here are some candidates:

Tony Romo, Paige Spirinac, and maybe Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers once they retire 😀

Although this could hamper my weekend post-round power nap.

While there is some truth to this, I also think having a good set of seasoned commentators can be nice as well. I say that having listened to Vin Scully for 30 some years, and tbh I'd love to hear Ken Venturi again.

I mean, Gary Koch ≠ Ken Venturi, though… 😉

I wonder if they'll go quietly in the night unlike their CBS counterpart:

Not sure I'll miss Gary Koch all that much but didn't mind Maltbie that much. It could be that I'm turning into that "get off my lawn" old guy. Loved Johnny Miller and Ken Venturi. Not sure we'll ever see those type of guys again? Actually, didn't mind Lanny on the CBS broadcasts (and still like him on Golf Channel).

I didn't know I needed this in my life and you posted it!
For the record Eli is not so much of a snoozer, he just mostly makes quiet, snide comments about Peyton. You mostly don't catch it because Peyton is ranting or they are cutting to commercial.

In my Grom:

Driver-Taylormade 10.5 Woods- Taylomade 3 wood, taylormade 4 Hybrid
Irons- Callaway Big Berthas 5i - GW Wedges- Titles Volkey  Putter- Odyssey protype #9
