I get it, it might work for some, but not for me I don't think. I don't put too much thought into it once I'm standing over the ball, my poor decision has already been determined. I don't know if going through the "mindset" process is going to make much difference. I don't see Dean putting something like this on his balls so I really don't have to worry about it. Its interesting though, maybe someone here might find value in it.

Bridgestone Golf has today introduced Mindset, a proprietary visual technology available on all four of the 2024 Tour B Series golf balls. The...

Can’t I just draw on the ball myself and get the same result?

Yep. Or… just make it so you don't need a weird reminder on your golf ball. 😄

I'm going to suggest that within a couple of shots I will forget to look at the little logo on the ball and decode it into the required steps. It will just be a logo on a ball.

After all, I don't look at the Amazon logo and think "Man, they really do help me with everything from A to Z."

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I wouldn’t remember what the steps in the decal mean. Then I’d have to look it up. Then I’d realize I spent too much time googling it and skip my preshot routine and just hit the ball.

You forgot that you need to document that you performed each of the steps within specifications. And then document that it has been documented.

I need a vacation.

No, that is not allowed.
Markings on the ball can only be made by the manufacturer.
They are the only entity to ensure the markings are accurate and the ball remains balanced!

What did you think you were going to buy a $1.50 permanent marker at Target and draw some imperfect line with your shaky hand?
This is the game of golf, get serious!!!!!!

Yea you’re going to look down at your balk and see how the lines aren’t perfectly round and that’s going to cause you to think about the flaws in your own swing. Automatic shank 😉

This is exactly right. I occasionally write notes to myself and stick them to the fridge. Within a day or two, it just becomes part of the background and I don't notice it anymore making it completely useless.

I used to write reminders and swing thoughts on a piece of paper, keep in my bag and read before and during a round.
I think I read it once and forgot about it.
So then I started writing cryptic reminders on my glove. But then I just stopped paying attention to that as well.

I also used to put a line on my ball. But soo realized I never lined it up to align with the hole, So what was the point?

All of the talk about writing on things reminded me of the old "Welcome to Jamaica, Have a Nice Day." joke. You can Google that.

    • Day 7 - Mirror work, trying to hit that PGA-logo position in my follow through. Mirror really helped, need to film soon.
    • So hit the😝 irons crooked AND play layup golf?? Hahaha.. no thanks. I would rather stay home. 😊
    • First - glad to see these popping up again. Now to the topic at hand - I would rather be option 1.  If I know how far it's going (I mean a yard or two) I can always play to the wider parts of the fairway and/or the green and still do reasonably well.  Now if I could just really hit the "number" that well.
    • Day 2 (10 Mar 25) - Long day of driving to dr appt with son.  Thankfully got in one of my fave putting drills (two ball side by side) - the goal to have both balls come off the putter face equally by having them come off the putter face as close to the same time as possible.  First few rolls - the toe was leading the way as that ball flew off the face.  By the end of the drill both balls were basically equal off the face, rolling to within a couple of inches of each other.  Nice drill of focusing on squaring the face.  BTW - I was using the old Odyssey DF992.
    • Day 161 - 2025-03-10 Got a decent, long session in. Focused mostly on the backswing feels, and moved on toward the end of the four hours (not all hitting balls, I installed a motion sensing light switch in there too, and worked with a student over FaceTime for a bit) on the downswing feel.
