I'm 43......some days I feel like 21....other days I feel like 65. Found most of it is attitude, don't let the little aches and pains bother you and just have fun.

I will be 45 on Monday. I have been playing golf since my grandpa started taking me at 8 or so. Played pretty regularly in college (2 time per week) and generally shot right at 80, +/- a stroke or two.

The last 5 years, I have hardly played at all. Maybe 10 times a year or so. I just decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to get back into it. My first step was to replace my 25+ year old Tour Classic II's with a new set. I spent 15+ hours in the past week, demo-ing TONS of clubs. Bought them yesterday. Here is what I have: (I would put it in a signature, but I don'thave enough posts yet. :D )

Adams Speedline 9.5 driver and 3 wood.
Nike SQ 2 18 deg. hybrid
Taylor Made R7 irons 4-AW. What a great price! Thanks TM for coming out with new clubs every year!
Taylor Made RAC TP 56 and 60 deg wedges. (Another great sale!)
My trusty old Ping B60i putter.

It is good to be back...I will be heading to Palm Springs with the father in law for a week of 36 holes per day. Can't wait.

This is so cool to hear, about your grandpa. The greatest golfing pleasure I have these days is teaching my three grandsons to play. Started about three years ago; they are now 16, 14, and 11. I gave each of them their own set of clubs in 2007 so they would learn to take care of them. We get out once every month or so, as their busy teenage schedule permits. A lot of life-lessons can be learned on a golf course; plus it is fun!

My own schedule is not crowded, as I just turned 72. I was quite surprised to see that the 'over 60' category on this site is less than 2%.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
