It's kind of laughable to read some of the distances, isn't it? I'm less impressed with distances than I am with accuracy.  I've seen a lot of people hit 270 yd drives, 50 yds into the woods.

2 iron- 230

3 iron- 210

4 iron- 195

5 iron- 185

6 iron- 175

7 iron- 165

8 iron- 155

9 iron- 145

PW- 128

SW- 97

LW- 78

I wouldn't trust there distance to much, and distance doesn't = low scores. a 400 drive into the woods is useless. Driving the green and 4 putting is useless. A lot of yardages are incorrect, on the course anywhere between 10-30 yards. When i play in tournaments, they spray paint the correct yardage markers and it is no where near the 200,150,100 markers.  I would take there yardage with a grain of salt. being short on the fairway is better then being long in a hazard. distance is a small part of the game, consistency is the major part of the game.

Sounds about right. I've always had stiff shafts in my irons (even when I was a junior golfer and should have had regular shafts). Now that I'm getting older (43) I might go to regulars in my irons. I use blades and I think a solid shot will feel better and more pure with a lighter shaft, even if it won't go as straight.

Driver: Taylormade Superfast 2.0.  9.5 Stiff Reax 4.8

3 Wood: Taylormade Superfast 2.0 Loft 15 Stiff  Reax 4.8

Irons: Mizuno MP-64 4 iron. MP-69, 5-PW, DG S-300 Shafts.

Wedges: Mizuno MP T-11, 50 (gap) and 56 (sand).

Putter: Odyssey Two Ball putter (circa 2004)

i dont care really too much of yardage, because accuracy and the short game are what count when it comes to getting low scores. i have a driver that my 83 year old uncle gave to me when i was 13. it was his lucky driver, and ive never let go of it. ive maybe at the most hit it 225 maybe 240 if it rolled really well. my iron distance isnt so great either. with a 3 iron, i could probably hit it 160-165.

im not really strong for a 21 year old man. to me the most satisfying thing in golf is when you hit the ball just right, and its close to the hole. that shows alot more skill than bombing it like tiger woods.

Steep swing? Which leads to more distance with the irons and less distance with the driver? Seems like your driver should carry farther. Regular shaft with the 7 iron? Stiff shaft with the driver?

Not sure if a steep swing will cause more distance. Delofting the irons will cause more distance. Steep swing, doesn't necessarily deloft an iron.  It can, but you can have a very steep swing and loose your wrist hinge early, causing a very high shot, and distance loss. So you got to watch out for what your looking for

A lot of bullshit floating around in here. I play regularly with some low single digits that are playing 260-270 drives (with rollout) for the most part. At the end of the day, we all know straight wins the battle... A battle we all battle. 9* R11 Driver - Avg 250 w/ rollout with good fairway shot. • The bold is very late.
    • Angle isn't perfect. Just found my TST alignment stick, so will make sure video angles are better in future videos. Focus right now is lower body and lower body only. If I make a single post here for the foreseeable future about anything NOT lower body focused, I need to be slapped (I will make an occasional note on unrelated stuff I might be seeing). It's not perfect by any means, but there is a decent bit I like about this swing. Lower body is definitely better than it was pre-TST meetup instruction. There are some things that are tough to see I think I'm doing better like where pressure is going into the trail foot and keeping that trail hip internally rotated. Need to keep feeling those. I think I do my best work when the trail leg keeps its flex on the backswing or at most loses a degree. Keeping the flex (but obviously not adding any) seems to help feel like I'm loading the right glute and to keep the hip internally rotated. Not totally sold on this though. I think my work on adding flow during the TST COVID-19 lessons really helped even though its been quite some time. Shift -> rotate -> shift -> rotate. I just need more out of my hips. It's not drastic, but it's everything. I think it will help sync up a lot regarding my swing and more power to boot. Unrelated note: I hate my negative spine angle.
    • Day 3 - mirror swings/drills after my workout. Two seemingly good feels for me: feel like as the club reaches the top the weight of it/momentum of it pointing left initiates my "fall" into the lead side. Helps initiate the re-centering and some of the pressure shift. The second feel is like: as soon as the re-centering is over, begin to lighten the trail foot by feeling like my right knee in the beginning of the downswing essentially replaces where my left knee was at the top. This helps halt my sometimes ludicrous slide and greatly helps me get open.
    • Day 48 (17 Jun 25) - Into the net work today with the 5i - focus remains on the setup and proper weight shift.  Was not a perfect session as several were very heavy along with a couple of thin boys.  Finished up the day with a few pitches with the 52 (last set of 5 hitting to about 40 yds had 4 of the 5 in a 5’ circle (now if I could just do that on the course) - the errant one was a total mishit).
    • Day 260 - 2025-06-17 Played seven holes before it started thundering and then raining. Some good. Simpler.
