FWIW, the main indoor ranges I go to are the Forekicks soccer domes in Marlborough and Norfolk.

Apparently there's a new one in Taunton too. I'm a little lucky that there are pretty large windows pointing straight at the camera for face-on views, but DTL views get dark, especially when it's cloudy.

How often is the range open at the fore kicks in Marlboro? I'm there every Saturday, but there's 4 year olds playing soccer on every available inch of the place

Sweet! Thanks for the link Jamo, that's only 20 mins from me. I'll have to go and check it out.

Yeah, i have the same problem with the heated ranges because I'm standing in the shade hitting into the light.

We could definitely do that.

Noice.  Let's make it happen this summer.

I live in Albany too and if I didn't make a bad impression upon @colin007 could probably ride out with him, however, I wasn't able to post in http://thesandtrap.com/t/72404/tst-new-england-spring-summer-2014-outing

Jamo, I was going to try that fore kicks place in marlborogh next week, do you like it?  Is it big enough to get a good idea of ball flight?

I do like it. For ball flight, you get a sense of whether you pushed or pulled it, but not so much if you're slicing or hooking the ball. Even if you don't get too much of the ball flight, hitting into a net isn't the worst thing. Either way, it beats hitting balls at a regular driving range with those wonky heaters that rarely work. Just make sure you either check their website or call ahead. They're generally open 9-3, but sometimes they don't open until noon.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
