Trees. Definitely trees.

Simple to take care of. remove a wedge from your bag and add a chainsaw.

I still don't play golf nearly as much as I would like, or can. That being said, I have managed to drop my handicap lower than it ever has before.

read the book... tried the techniques... all it does is give me a mean hook... makes my backswing really quick but my downswing more out of control... like swinging out of my shoes... funny thing is... i actually lost distance... lolz

I'm pretty concentrated when I play. I never really hit a bad shot because of lack of focus. 90 yards and in is my "bread & butter" (Guiliani quote), I really feel confident with a wedge and a putter in my hands. I just think I think too much about a previous shot. I don't let it go. That's probably my biggest flaw.

Loss of concentration/mental breakdowns during a round - I've had several rounds this summer in the mid to high 70's where I am anywhere from +3 to +5 in a two to three hole stretch.

That's stuff you just can't teach or crack open a Harvey Penick book and understand.

The question is how many is that?

I played about 70 maybe 75 rounds this year (51 posted, the rest out of season). Compared to most golfers that is quite a bit. Compared to the guys at my club it isn't very much. i will give you one guess as to who my wife compares me to and one more to guess who i compare myslef to...LOL

Poor shape.  I'm nowhere near fat but golf is more or less my only form of exercise at the moment and it's totally insufficient.

Interesting question.. I think I answered it before, but I'm too lazy to search, so I'll answer it again.

LACK OF ACCURACY with shorter clubs !!!!!!!!!!!       For the "easy" approach shots say from 130 and in ... I can't get it close - my distance control is good as I'm usually pin high and on the green somewhere, or just off the green --- BUT --- I could be 40 ft left or right ... which puts so much pressure on the short game getting down in 2.       I would love to get my approach shots within 15 ft consistently - just can't seem to do it.      I am afraid I'll forever be a ham fisted wedge player ....

Iron play. I am straight, and above average off the tee, and my short game is good, but my iron play is inconsistent.

    • Thank you.  I'll cross it off the list since it isn't going to achieve what I want.
    • While it does turn out that both Tiger and Phil are less squeaky clean than I previously believed, I don't think golf quite has the worst in professional sports.  Or maybe they're better at image management.   Obviously I'm not fond of Phil's issue we're discussing in this thread (or his involvement with LIV) or Tiger's choices of how to drive.  I used to really like Dustin Johnson and, even before the LIV situation, we started to hear rumors that he bought more snow than Seward, although I don't think those stories were ever substantiated.  Meanwhile, I did think of Anthony Kim as the "good, bad boy" of the tour for a while fifteen years ago because of his party persona -- and if it turns out the worst he did was show up hung over to play (barring what one thinks of LIV), that's pretty good.  And I'm still happy he found a way to get his life clean. If we contrast that with some other sports I enjoy, I'm sure we could find a nice long list of NFL players that, at one point in my life, I was quite fond of, we get far worse disappointments (to put it mildly).
    • Answering that properly would land me in hot water, so I'm not going to. I don't think that many people would do that. I think that in certain circumstances many people would be willing to overlook someone doing that. But I was really referring to what I assumed was Tiger's transgressions (cheating on his wife) not Phil's.
    • No! Is a large part of the human population selfish, apathetic and cuts corners in the name of self-preservation 'more than they would like to admit', yes. Degenerate, scum, etc?.. no!! Most humans/men would not grope a woman like Phil is accused of doing (I think he absolutely did). That is scum. I mean what % of men do you think would do that? Seriously??
    • I don't think that is true at all. That is off-topic here, I think.
