@iacas, @mvmac, please interject if this does more harm than good, but what about trying it at 1% of full speed? Just get the ball literally rolling - I mean literally, purposely, hit a worm burner, a wimpy one at that. Once you see on the vid that the heel stays down, increment the speed just a bit more, rinse and repeat. Screw the funny looks you might get.

Yes, @bplewis24 needs a LOT more of one of the "S"s of the 5… the "slow" one.

This should help. Pay good attention to the grip… and the pace of the shots, and the end part about turning the foot out a LOT for some practice drills.

Only DTL video tonight.  Every stall at the range was full.  Switched up the grip but you probably can't tell much from this angle.  What about the practice movements and tempo; any better?

Only because I've hit hundreds of those same drills/shots, I would say maybe SLOW down...alot..lol seriously going slower helps to sync up, and make better contact. At least try it for a few times and see if it doesn't work out for you. I only say this as I'm sure all of us would like to see you improve, and shoot some Low scores...

It's better, better sync with the arms and pivot and it's slower. I would say that is the fastest you should do these swings.

Erik and I will talk about it but it looks like the left knee is still straightening way too soon, getting the club head to tip out at A6. Notice how much flex Erik has in his left knee at A6, try to copy this in a mirror. Maybe watch the video again as well.

Tonight I'll work on slowing down a bit more and keeping the knee flex longer.

Agreed on the left knee. You might feel like it never straightens just so it stops happening so early and quickly.

It shoots a golf ball (an old Pinnacle, not one of those cushy ProV1s) at your nads if you don't make a good swing.

I don't know Erik. Projectiles heading towards my groin are never welcomed. :bugout:

I am waiting for someone to develop a corrective device like a dog shock collar that zaps you when you violate one of the 5SKs. Talk about rapid improvement. Call it the Medicus Extreme. :offtopic:

I'm guessing a it's a club cleaner to get the green junk off the bottom of your club.

I can make something like that! Would you like a Key 1 shock collar? :smartass:

If there's any significant acceleration in any of three axis on the collar, Zappo!

Yep. Not enough weight on the front foot. Buzzz! Left wrist breaks down. Big Buzz!!!

Sorry for the highjack @bplewis24 . This device could really help us all though. B-)

That's the automatic ball retriever/tee thing. So you normally put the balls underneath the area where the basket is, and after each strike, a new ball pops up. One of the buttons on there adjusts the tee height.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
