What are the top 5 things that get you going the most on the course? In order if you want, just say so.

In order mine would have to be.

1. 5-20y short game shots that I am steadily improving at getting to 5 or less feet. The feeling I get from nestling up close its like AHHH STRESS FREE PAR YEAH (even though that stress can be enjoyable, as you will soon see) and as a result makes me much more confident about my overall short game.

2. That uncomfortable distance of 4-7 footers for par (or 4-7 footers in general, but much sweeter if for par). I love seeing the ball drop from this distance. It's the most important putt in golf. Followed closely by learning to lag it up close from various distances.

3. Hearing that driver with a near perfect smash factor, then watching how far it goes and how quickly it gets there.

4. Working the ball with driver on the exact angle of the dog leg looks incredible. Especially when the shot is pured.

5. An approach to within 15 feet with a short iron. Feels smooth and the game feels easy.

There's so many more out there, like hitting a good shot into a par 3 feels really nice for example...post your favorites.

4. Chipping it and watching it land and release towards the hole

5. Making long putts

I love sticking really tough greenside shots. I love being short sided, green running away from me with a down hill lie and having somebody in my group say something like, "I'm glad I'm not you" or "No chance of getting it close from there." I almost always come out looking like a hero in those situations.

My equipment:

Driver - Callaway FT3 Fusion (9 degree)
3 Wood - Orlimar Tri-Metal (9 degree)
Hybrids - Bobby Jones (17, 21 & 25 degree)

Irons - KZG XCB 5 - PW

Wedges - Warrior (52 & 56 degree)

Putter - STX Envision

Ball of choice - Callaway TOUR i(s)

1. Striping a driver. The great contact and watching it go right down the middle is an absolutely perfect feeling.
2. sticking a shot within 10 feet from 130-150 yards.
3. Watching a hybrid take off and rise up as it flies like a bullet right where I aim.
4. 170-180 yard par 3 and sticking a shot close
5. really I just love hitting golf shots. :p

My philosophy on golf "We're not doing rocket science, here."

Yeah that's a great point.

Like others have said, the sound of an approach shot thudding the green is pretty.

My most enjoyable shot is the one where I instinctively stop watching it and pick up my tee/get back to my bag before it lands, because I know exactly where it's going to be in the fairway/on the green without watching.

Others/more specifically, in order from the top:

1. The 20+ foot putt that drops in.
2. The chip that drops in.
3. The big curve putt that follows the line exactly as you visualized it.
4. The pitch that winds up within 5 feet of the hole.
5. The approach iron/par 3 that is dead on the flag that you keep watching because you think you might have a shot at eagle/hole in one.

1. long perfect draw with a driver. I'm not the best at hitting draws but when it happens, i near piss my pants in joy.
2. second shot with a 3 wood on a par 5 to 10 feet of pin.
3. wedge shot from 40-80 yards to bounce once and land 2 feet from pin.

1. Getting a tough read on a green correctly and executing. Maybe a double breaker from 25ft slightly down hill...and you actually hit the shot as planned and it works. Even better if it goes in...
2. Any long approach shot with a fairway wood that gets you on in 2 on a par 5 is a rush.
3. Picking the right club for the conditions and executing the shot. Uphill into a wind approach shot etc...

the last two could happen with any number of shots

4. Finding a ball you thought was GONE and making the most of it.
5. The sound the ball makes when it drops on a green from a high trajectory. Get out the divot repair tool.

1. An iron shot with the ball lying above my feet. I always hit these pure and gain about 10 yards over my regular distance.
2. A straight, piercing drive that finds the middle of the fairway.
3. A putt that drops in the side of the cup after a big break (as long as you pretend you meant to do that afterward).
4. Getting through/over trees with a shot that goes just like you pictured. Sure, it's easy enough to get out, but when you hit between those two trees or get up over that tall one just like you planned, it's special.
5. My absolute favorite: a long, straight putt that just tracks straight into the hole, giving you lots of time to watch and enjoy the drama of wondering if it really was as straight as you thought.

I don't think I could put it any better than that!
