My most disappointing player was Bubba Watson..

Don't remember a single highlight of his..

A ton of memories from this one - Jeff Overton's Boom Baby and playing as well as he did and sinking all those putts, Ricky Fowler winning the last 3 holes to halve his match and hitting two long putts on 17 and 18.., Tiger going 9 or 10 under in 15 holes in today, Cink's putt on 17 against McIlroy and McDowell after McDowell knocked it in close, Cink walked up slowly, ate a sandwich, downed some water and took his time and took the crowd right out of it. Loved that one...

QFT, I thought he'd put up a better fight against Jimenez

I love Bubba, but he is just too inconsistent/wild to be in the Ryder Cup.

I have to admit, Rickie Fowler is going to be a serious, serious threat come two, four, six years down the line. He played absolutely astonishing golf for a rookie.

If you want to get a youngster fired up about golf - get them to watch a Ryder Cup like this one! If this doesn't get them fired up to play, nothing will!!!! I really don't care who won - it was exciting to watch!!!

What? Do you mean na na na na hey hey good bye?

No, the na na na blah blah hey good bye is a different chant, but equally as lame.

Nope, I've never been to a Habs game.

I think he'll be fine in Medinah in 2012 when the course is set up favorably for long hitters..

His swing is goofy, but it's consistent. Whatever works, etc.

wow so close for america. We did better in the singles. If the cink/kuchar match wasnt halved on the last hole yesterday we would of won even with europe dominating most matches that day. All we needed was one of them

Hmm - why dont we just leave it setup neutral as a GOLF COURSE - not favouring long nor short hitters? And you might think about it a couple years down the stretch, if the americans think they need the advantage of tweaking their course to their liking, the Euros will just do the same next time you come over.

eh...can't say that because if we would have gained at least that point...the tone of today's match, or "fire" under their belly's would have been modified, etc... It's that whole butterfly effect. Things happened the way they did and ended the way they did today. A minor change yesterday could very well have affected today's entire outlook...maybe even a giant asswhooping from the European team.

Because every Ryder cup I have seen has been set up against the visiting team. If you leave it neutral, chances are the Euro course will favor their team the next time. Home course advantage has been around sports for centuries.

With 1 point separating in the end, you can question how much home course advantage matters. A lot of the European players plays mostly in USA anyways.

There are so many details that could make USA the winner this week, it's a toss up really.

How about not having such slow greens? Yes it rained, but Europe always has slow greens. And they should since it benefits them. No reason the home team shouldn't set it up to favor their guys. Part of home course advantage.

yea thats true but we still would of lost every match that day except that one hypothetically. The fire would of been there for sure because of all those losses.

    • Day 27 (7 Dec 25) - Got in a few swings with 9i and hard foam balls in backyard.  Setup weight fwd (rebuilt left foot really lets me feel the weight in a slightly painful way) - kept the backswing to around 9 o’clock focusing on contact and resulting divot pattern.  Like how the hard foam balls come off the face (almost like real balls in sound).  A good abbreviated session as I only able to hit about a dozen balls in the fading light.
    • Day 117 12-7 A bit of chipping practice today. Full swing- hit some real balls to see where Im at.
    • Not the part I was replying to: Handicaps did not go down much (like 0.14 on average IIRC?) when we went from 10/20*0.96 to 8/20. And a good chunk of that was from the +s.
    • I think he meant in the UK. The old system was completely different from the new one. 10/20 x 0.96 vs 8/20 would really only impact very low handicaps I think. The 0.96 serves to increase differentials for plus differentials, where 8/20 vs 10/20 works to lower differentials for all. I don't know many plus golfers who would be upset that their index got lower. A lot of really good players don't even really keep their handicaps up-to-date. They're much more interested in their WAGR rankings which get them entries to certain events.
    • Day 433 - 2025-12-07 Got some work in after Junior Elite before a night of sports (and the return of my wife!). Backswing work. Similar to what a lot of my juniors are doing.
