That would suit me. I am one of the vast quiet moderates so a crackpot from either side will do.

Me!  I would like to see him get an average joe, I'm sure the only way to sell it on TV is to have a celebrity, but I would like to see him actually find some one who would listen and try to improve!

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

I like your avatar .        I think Sara Brown would represent nicely - she's got the tools , but can't seem to break through.

It is a good answer but Haney's young wife would nix it straightaway!

In light of all your comments, I probably should call Hank and let him know about our suggestions. Maybe he would teach me to take the club back way outside the line while I was down there.

there is a lot of trump/haney commercials the last couple of days. almost like they are giving you the answer to this question.

If they're going to get an athlete it will probably be a retired one.  I think they said the show runs for about 7 months and not many active pros have that much of an off-season to film stuff.  MJ and JT would both be great as they're already known in the golf world.  I think they're going to go for a straight up actor.  Maybe someone that has been on the Trump show like Mark Walhberg or an athlete like Jerome Bettis.

Jerry Rice has tried to make the Champions Tour, it'd be interesting to see if Hank can get him there.

Although it's entertaining to watch some of these guys go through the training that Hank Haney puts them through.. I'd like to see someone with talent that has a legit chance to play professionally. We all check out Big Break..and that competition is great TV programming. I'd personally love to see someone that's a + handicap that doesn't have the $ or opportunity to train with 1 of the greatest coaches of all time on the show.  He can give insites on the game on a different level...instead of breaking 80's..it can be breaking par...and Hank can help them deal with the stress and prepare them for what to expect during qualifying tournaments, Q school etc.... just me double pennies.

Would definitely tune in to watch the two of them fight it out in a kiddie pool full of jello.

Suzanne Rogers Haney...because you see enough of her already.  If she was the main pupil, then maybe the producers would plug in some better golfer cameos to round out the episodes.

They are not going to have a good player on the show unless that person is a celebrity.  The show is about entertainment, not golf instruction.

Two thoughts going thru my head on this one first John Daly . It would be nice to see someone give him a chance. But I'm not sure if he needs a coach or a shrink probably both. The other is a contest of some sort to give your average Joe a chance for a level of instruction he may never have access to.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
    • Day 32: worked for about 10 minutes on my drill. Filmed it as well for a check in. I think it’s slightly better but still seeing some issues.
    • Day 44 (26 Dec 25)  -  played in the Friday men’s shootout with a twist - used the Toney Penna persimmons and MacGregor blades - had a blast playing these clubs.  They really help in zoning in on making solid ball contact.  Scoring was solid - had several looks at birdie and had a few par saves.  Overall a day of focused course management.
    • Day 2: 2025.12.27 Eighteen holes at Kauri Cliffs. Focusing on trying to keep flex in right leg during backswing.
