Lots of things can effect weight, how much water you drank, how much sodium or carbs you consumed, workout, bathroom schedule. Like @Slice of Life said, after a cheat meal the scale can go up 3-5lbs but then it quickly goes away after getting back to your normal diet. To actually gain 3-5lbs you would need to take in 17,500 calories above maintenance (3,500 x 5).

Good video.

I'm glad to see that weighing myself daily in the morning is what they suggest so I know I'm doing something correctly, haha.

Hadn't thought about doing an average weekly weight, though,  I like that idea.

I don't think I've ever done a pull up in my life, or, at the very least, certainly not as an adult. Nice job, Mike!

You'll get there man...just keep at it. I used to struggle big time to do pullups. Just keep dropping weight and building strength and you'll be there in no time.

Today was very enlightening. I'm certainly going to try and include more protein shakes in my diet rather than soda. I figure the protein shakes will fill me up more anyway and help me get to my daily protein goal. Thanks again for the help.

No prob man. I took the day off (workout, not nutrition)...and the rest was well needed. Chest day tomorrow. Or maybe arms...I dunno, we'll see how I feel.

Thanks, like @Slice of Life said you just gotta work your way up and keep at it. September 2013 I couldn't do a pull-up, took me a good couple months.

They tend to fill me up. For whatever reason I was really hungry today, had a decent sized lunch and a big dinner and was still hungry. So I had a protein shake and I'm kinda full now lol. Still eating above my maintenance calories but didn't want to go crazy.

@mvmac ,

What protein shake do you use?  A lot of them have stuff in them that seems sketchy.  I'd like to have one for after workouts.

My workout yesterday was helping my friend move 4 300 lb tower bases. We loaded them on a trailer and then unloaded them

at the new storage location.  Lots of squats and deadlifts. :-)

Made me think about why we need to stay strong as we get older. This past week I carried three 40lb bags of salt to

my water softener, lifted two heavy batteries into my truck, as well as help my friend.

Many benefits to staying strong.

I hit the gym twice yesterday. 1st trip was to blast my legs at lunch and went back in the evening for some cardio.

I like that it has 4g of fiber in it. Tough to meet the daily recommendations sometimes...

I like Quest bars so that makes it a lot easier.

Just a bit on Fiber,

Fiber is a bit overrated. Especially people who think just eating grains with high fiber. All insoluble fiber does is help clean out your digestive system.

If a person is concerned about helping cholesterol they need to eat more leafy greens (ex. Spinach). These have soluble fiber and help with maintaining good cholesterol balance.

I wouldn't put too much into daily recommendations, well if you are talking about FDA. Especially when they are solely base 2000 calorie intake. I mean, what if you eat 3000 calories a day, or 1500 calories a day. I really don't want to have to recalculate all my daily requirements based on how many calories I eat.

I think if people just eat healthier (add way more veggies) they will do just fine on their Fiber.

You hit on exactly why I want to keep my fiber up.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
