I have a Line-X spray-in liner in one truck, and a rubber mat in the other.  The clubs don't move at all.  The truck with the Line-X has a tonneau cover to hide them.  With the other truck, if I need to go somewhere where I can't see the truck, I just put them up front.

I use one of those cargo retaining bars across the back to make a "pocket" for the clubs. The bar is covered with a couple of towels for protection. My "bag of stuff" and carts, etc are just forward of that.

I have a locking fiberglass hard cover for the bed so, all the golf equipment stays in there all season.

Go buy a Honda RidgeLine........they come with a waterproof compartment in the truck bed that will hold a full set of clubs and cart bag......I know 'cause a friend of mine has one.

I really like the new Camaro SS.   I nearly bought one and the trunk was the deciding factor that pushed me into a Challenger.  I performed an official bag-test at the Chevy dealer. LOL (the salesman was cringing)  I could get my bag to fit, but not without removing the longer clubs from the bag first and there was absolutely no space for anything else.   Yes, I know weak excuse.........but the non-usable trunk space would have driven me nuts over time.

LOL......I did the same thing when I bought a Mazda RX-8 several years ago......they had even had a TV commercial where they put a set of clubs in the trunk.  when i asked the salesman to put my clubs in the trunk....he did, but had to take the driver out....I bought the car anyway.

Thought the picture of my Silverado with a little snow might make some of us feel a little better in this god-forsaken heat!!

I ALWAYS have my clubs in the extended cab.  Travel 30,000 to 40,000 miles/year and they are always with me.  If I have passengers, the Weatherguard box is extra wide.  I'll just take the time to dump the tools, etc. in my garage and I can put a set of clubs in the box... locked.  Some have suggested just putting them in the bed of the truck.  My truck has a LineX liner.  I would never put my bag back there.  I love the LineX, but it is extremely abrasive and don't know how the bag would look after a trip.  Also... I would be afraid to stop and use the restroom or do anything that would take my eyes off the truck.  People will steal anything out of a truck bed and would make a bee line to a set of golf clubs left unattended.

I keep mine in a toolbox in the back of my truck all the time, never keep tools in it at all so its just the clubs and a couple folding chairs. I have the ability to keep them locked and they stay out of the weather all the time. Also am able to keep extra ball, tees etc... in it without taking up truck space

No need for a cover or anything mine stay in place and lay the bag sideways in the truck and drive like a maniac

When i had a pickup I just threw em in the back and went.  never a single problem.

My bed was rhino lined though, I'm sure that helped a lot!

A bag of golf clubs is way too heavy to be picked up by the air stream flowing into the bed. If you put them in the bed right next to the cab, they're in a dead zone because the cab creates a wind shadow. You won't have to tie them down. Nor will they slide around unless you drive your truck like a wild man.

Well, they won't as long as you don't have one of those "plastic" bedliners! My buddy did, and he was one of those "hundred bungee cord" guys. I have a tonneau cover and rubber bed mat. Nothing goes anywhere!

My clubs ride in the front seat of one of my trucks, and the back seat of the other. Same with my trolley. 

Bungee cords work quite well if they ride in the bed. They keep them from moving around. That said, the bed of the truck is not a place to put clubs. I know some guys who have stopped at 7-11, and when they came out their clubs were gone. Easy pickens. I lost all my softball gear that way.

I had a brain fart once, where I put the bag of clubs in the bed. I was going straight to the course with no stops. On the way there I saw a "Free Car Wash" sign. One those you just pull in, and ride through. Yep, not only did my truck get clean, so did my golf bag, and head covers. Took some heavy duty ribbing from buddies on that fiasco.  Played a decent round though. 

As for storage, depending on where  you live, the ambient temps could cause damage to clubs. Excess heat can ruin grips, and epoxied fittings. Not good for the bag either. Extreme cold is not a good thing either.

My clubs live in my locker at the course so they rarely go anywhere. When I do take them somewhere they go in the back of my truck, loose. I am not sure how the rest of you drive, but my clubs do just fine in the back of my truck without tying them down.
