Okay, just woke up and turned on the coverage.  They said Donald had the chance to go up by 5 walking to the 4th tee, and is now tied teeing off at the 5th.  Anybody know what happened.

Not really, but it looks like he is up 3 through 13- started with 3 pars and a bogey on 4 before birdieing 6, 7, 10 & 12

Nice view of his shot into 18 today. Not much is going to go wrong from there!

I'm not one to make bold predictions, but if Luke Donald plays at Olympic the way he performed this week, he's going to win the Open by four shots, too. A dominant win in major-championship conditions, especially on the weekend.

I think I was still a bit groggy at 6am when the TV first turned on.  I probably mistook the 5th tee box for "5" strokes.  Anyway, that was a clinic on the back 9.

I wouldn't go that far, but I expect him to be in contention.  He's due to win one soon, IMO, but to win by 4 shots he'd have to show something in a major that we haven't seen from him thus far.  If Tiger isn't in contention, I'd love to see him or Westwood win.

Ernie got a little upset at the conditions at Wentworth

Quote:

Ernie Els has apologized for his expletive-laced outburst about the condition of the greens at Wentworth at the BMW PGA Championship.

The South African said after his third round Saturday that officials had failed to water the putting surfaces heavily enough, making it nearly impossible to hold approach shots on some greens.

European Tour chief executive George O'Grady said Sunday that Els asked to see him Sunday morning and ''apologized for his intemperate language.''

O'Grady said Els has apologized to ''all the individuals concerned'' and has accepted Els' offer of a ''substantial donation to the European Tour Benevolent Trust.''

Els had been facing a fine for his comments.

I would love to know exactly how much he had to drop into the "Swear Box".

Ernie's in a tough spot at Wentworth. He redesigns it, and takes a bunch of shit for his choices. Then they lose control of the greens in the middle of this event and I imagine people are coming up to him in the locker room going: "Thanks for nothing man, I was on the button today and shot 85. Nice work!"

Rage on.

Agree, there's a really good story here. It's gotta take a lot for the mild mannered "Big Easy" to lose it and boil over.

Maybe Rors needs a bit less 'boom-boom' in his life. (A SE Asia euphemism for 'love making'.)  But i hope he puts on a good show in Memphis, where i think he plays next.

I believe he's playing this week at the Colonial.

Right?

You're correct. The first two days together with Donald and Bradley, in the group right in front of Woods, Couples and Haas.
