Oh snap, Phil hit it close again on 13. All 3 are on the green, with makeable birdie putts.

Breaking news!!!!!! Now this something amazing. I have not heard not one single "get in the hole". Great fans so far, much better than the Players.

Nope!!!! Nobody has even yelled anything. Maybe too early in the morning.

But Phil just sank the BIRDIE!!! He needed that one, and on the tough 13th hole!

Tiger is playing well, but we'll see how well on the front 6 holes.  He may need to card a couple birdies that he hasn't been able to secure before he gets to those holes.  But if he exhibits this kind of control off the tee, maybe he won't even need that to put up an even par round of golf today.

This is crazy. The fans sound like The Masters fans, very subdued, with small golf claps on the tees.

Pulling for Na to do well and do it quickly. If he were to transform himself into a calmer quicker player and go on to win it could do more for the USGA's pace of play initiative than "Tee It Forward"!!!

Good point.

lol, Bubba just blew it past the driver shots of both Mickelson and Woods. That's Bubba long.

Anybody surprised that Furyk was the most openly critical of the 600 yard par 5?  I pretty much agree with his reasoning, which has merit.  But it's not surprising that one of the shorter hitters is the most vocal.

No excuses. Phil could have run if he needed to be playing faster.  Second thought, that really isn't something I need to see on TV.....

What did Phil do?

Couldn't find his tee ball on 1, walked back to the tee, hit another, then was given a cart ride back to the group.

Phil is STRUGGLING (fatigue maybe..... sorry had to say it :) )  - but its great to see Tiger is piping his tee shots pretty well.....Bubba's driver off the deck.....I know thats how he plays but didn't the commentators say that he said "hit 2 drivers as hard as I could yesterday and was still 60 yards short of the green", so not sure what the point of that was............I did hear 1 "Get in the hole" on Bubba's bunker shot a few holes back, I bet these guys are glad the weather is cool , this course looks hilly!

I'm guessing they aren't controlling them like they need to.  Once you miss the fairway in a US Open, it's hard to advance the ball very far.

By the way, love the ampitheater setup of the 18th green ... there is an enormous amount of people set up around it ... looks like a coliseum or something.  I hope the Sunday finish is dramatic!

    • Two made the cut. My point isn’t to change any opinions, it’s for accuracy. If anything it further supports your opinion because PGAT players did better than your percentages.
    • OK, then instead of "PGAT Players" we can just say "Non-LIV Players".  I'm not sure that changes my opinion much. unless all 21 PGA Pros missed the cut which would dramatically impact the percentage of PGAT Players making the cut throwing more advantage to the "Non-LIV" group.
    • Day 67. Played my first 18 of the year. Not a great score but hit some really good shots for me. Highlights include a chip in for birdie, couple good drives, but even better for me a couple 6 iron approach shots landing on the green. Perhaps some of the practice is paying off 🙂
    • Because brail takes up a lot more space than print, a brail Bible is normally about 20 volumes. Each of which would be the size of the one Eli carries around in the movie. So for him to have a King James Bible he'd have to carry 20 books the size of the one he carries.  Love the movie. I didn't know that until years after I saw it the first time. Don't care, still a great movie.
