Didn't play with him, but I was standing on the practice green this morning and I heard a voice that was very familiar to me. I turned around and Morgan Freeman was standing next to me. One of the kids I was helping with their putting stroke looked at him and says, "Hey, that guy's in Batman!"  Pretty cool.

If I were him I would nickname my ball "Miss Daisy".

Probably why I'm not him.

A couple years ago I played in a group behind Trace Adkins' foursome while he was in the Minster area for Country Concert.

Roger and I used to golf frequently at NAS Miramar. He was a marketing executive for MacDonalds and used to organize a lot of their tournaments. I haven't seen him in several years though.

Detroit Lions != Pittsburgh Steelers. Good player. Not a member of the Steel Curtain though.

Ivan Lendl, does that count? Played with him a few times in West Palm area.

I am not a big football fan, maybe I minsunderstood him, or he played for both?  When I knew him, he was tall and lanky, but saw photos of him in his prime and he was a pretty big guy...one photo shows too kids doing pull ups from his arms.

messed that up too...actually he played for the Rams for a time.  He DID represent McDonalds though!

They named their son  Roger also......Kid had curly hair, and they called him RB. Sold his home in Mira Mesa. We had a regular foursome  Roger, Myself, Phil Berglund, and some other guy whose name I can not recall. Only other pro player I knew was Sid Edwards who owned a bar in Tierrasanta (San Diego). Never played Golf with him though.

Well, Lendl won 8 Grand Slams and is second all-time on the ATP tour in career wins. That would be the equivalent, in golf major wins, of Tom Watson's record and would be one fewer than Hogan and one more than Snead or Bobby Jones. What would you think of someone on a tennis forum asking if Watson, Hogan, Jones or Snead counted as famous people? Three of Lendl's five daughters play golf in the SEC, two for Florida and one for Alabama.
