TST Goes Mobile!

Big news!

The Sand Trap has gone mobile.

We've had a mobile interface in the past via TapaTalk (but you had to pay for the app if you wanted to post and do other things), but now we've got a mobile site that auto-detects and allows you to use your mobile browser. You won't need an app; you can just log in with your mobile device or tablet and the site should display the clean, fast mobile platform.

You can post, read, send and receive PMs, search, and do most of the things you normally can on the site. The few areas of the site that aren't fully "mobilized" yet will display in the old style, but everything else will show the mobile version to you!

A checklist of the things you can do on the mobile site:

• View, post, and create threads
• View subscriptions
• Read and respond to PMs
• File PMs in folders
• View classifieds
• Vote in polls
• Subscribe/unsubscribe
• Create PM folders
• Create new classifieds
• Create new polls

Just saw this for the first time last night.  Really excellent.  Well done.  Top notch mobile site that both has a nice spare, fast loading, and good looking interface, but also seems pretty intuitive and for the couple things I was looking for anyway the path to what I wanted was clear.

Will eventually try iPhone and iPad, but I'm sure they'll work awesome as well.

I've been using it on both my phone (HTC Evo) and my Kindle Fire and it works great. I think somebody commented during the testing that it was very app like and I'd have to agree with that.

Is anyone having a problem staying logged in? I know it's not a big deal but signing in every time I visit the page is tedious. On a iPhone

I don't remember the last time I had to log in. Are you clicking the "Remember me?" box? Quite literally it's been years.

This was only a problem once the site went mobile. I have since switched back to the desktop version, logged in, clicked remember me, and went back to the mobile version. I haven't had the problem since.

Thanks for the added info. There may be a bug there. I'll run it up the flagpole.

I tried the site from a Nokia Lumia 920 just for kicks via Windows Phone 8 IE and it rendered the desktop version. I'm guessing there are not many WP8 users though I really want to like WP8 but no mobile TST? That's a ding.
