Good progress!!! That has to be encouraging.

Definitely, I was able to isolate the feel to go along with the drills I'm doing. After my league night I'll have a better idea if this is translating into the course swing or not.

Just to take a page from EJ's putting notes for himself:

Current feel for the full swing to help kick the flip:

Straight arms: this helps several things, shortened backswing, staying connected, and flip by keeping arms extended in the follow through

Centered pivot; feel like turning around left leg to keep hips from sliding

Swing arms on downswing: ignore hands/wrists, focusing on the hands/wrists seemed to exacerbate the problem. Just swing the arms and let the rest happen naturally.

One thing that I have to make a conscious effort to do is make sure the ball placement stays center/front of center. I have a tendency to let it creep back.

Quick screencap of the video uploaded to evolvr 5 days ago and tonight. I know I've still got a lot of drills and practice to go, but I think this is a good start. Progress is exciting for me, I don't think I've ever progressed this fast before. I give all the credit to Iacas and brian for helping me. Pushing me to record myself to find the right feels and focus on one thing at a time has helped more than I ever thought possible.

Night and day. Finish looks very Zach Johnson like.

The lines from the aluminum siding - very handy for reference.

How do you keep that mini mat in place?

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

I have a couple of pegs that were used for something else, they have loops on the end that I turn inwards to hold the edges of the mat in place.

That's part of why I put "kick the flip" in there as quick key phrase to look for

Looks good! Between the two pics, it definitely looks like your weight is not nearly forward enough on the right, while much better on the left. Also notice how cupped your wrist is on the right vs. flat on the left. Nice.

Yeah, I'm pretty handy like that rofl. The camera positions are taken probably 6 ft apart, but it's crazy how it looks like it could be the same spot. I'm really interested in taking the swing to the course tonight if I end up having enough time. I'm a little concerned about loss of distance/swing speed taking the flip out, but I'll be happy if I can hit it where I want more often.

I would not be surprised if you gain distance.  It appears you will be delofting the club a bit now.

That is a distinct possibility. That's part of the reason, one way or the other, why I want to play a bit tonight. So I have an idea of what sort of impact, if any, there is on my distances before I play in my league tomorrow.

I lost it, already, I lost it. Didn't get to go play today so I just went back out to work on the swing thoughts and nothing but big flips every swing. Every feel I used yesterday fails.... Bad day got worse... back to the drawing board.

Take a day off and let your mind and body rest on it. Then go back and do SLOW SWINGS, and rebuild the foundation.

Reread your lesson text 3 times. Rewatch the lesson vid 3 times. Play that vid of your swing on the living room flat panel and mimic it while watching. Then go out with the camera, mimic the non flip swing without a ball for a bit. Then with the ball. You got it once. That's all you need. You have it in you somewhere. It's there. You can get it back.

I'm hoping it's just a matter of over thinking it and I've had a pretty crappy day.
