Two of my favorite franchises released their fifth installment last month.  I still haven't seen the fifth Ocean's movie, but I want to do so.

I enjoyed the fifth Jurassic Park, and wow, I wasn't expecting that second half, but wow, was it good.

Fifth Ocean's movie:  on the tee and anticipating an easy par.

Jurassic Park 5:  a low stress birdie.

Wonder, bogey. Nothing new, the daughter was overlooked, the friend had no motivation, the father was too perfect (and except for ignoring the daughter, the mom was too). Mandy Patinkin was good. The other mother was over the top.

I wasn't expecting much. Just the same old same old.

But this wasn't even quite that good.

A Cure for Wellness.  Lipped out double bogey.  I must've outgrown horror movies.  Slow plot lines, and not at all scary.

Sorry to Bother You - birdie. I really identified with many of the issues addressed by this movie, it's like a really good extra extra long episode of Atlanta in season 2 and even more bizarre if you can believe that. Great cast, Tessa Thompson, Steve Yuen, Armie Hammer. Laughed so hard and yet so uncomfortably.

Today marks the tenth anniversary of Stepbrothers.   I gave it a rewatch tonight.   It’s silly, immature, and pure low brow humour.  I give it a birdie.

Just saw The Incredibles 2 with the grandkids.   I give it an easy birdie.   There is a scene with the baby fighting a raccoon that is a belly laugh.   It is definitely worth seeing.

Battle of the Sexes, birdie.

I thought this was just going to be a typical little story, but it was better than I thought. Lots of stars, each playing their part really well.

Equalizer 2

Birdie. Storyline a little predictable, but I could watch Denzel Washington crack necks all day lol. Love his movies.

The tennis action was so realistic. I dunno how much was effects and how much the actors learned the motions. Probably computer graphics mostly.

When you Google what really happened, the story of her lover is really tragic.

MI:Fallout in true IMAX, not LIEMAX, birdie. It's what you'd expect, lots of insane action sequences, convoluted plot but who cares. I don't think this is a spoiler, but in the trailer, when you hear that flick flick when Man of Steel readies his wrists to fight, you don't hear the whomp whomp in the movie, so I was disappointed. Lots of great on location scenes in London and Paris.

I saw MI:Fallout this morning in not-IMAX (not even LIEMAX, just normal old screen).  I also give it a birdie with a similar review.

Henry Cavill as the new agent in the cast (and no Jeremy Renner :-( ) was decently good.  I remember liking him in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie from a few years ago that did a decent take on the television series (it was about a par).  I think I like movies where it's played that the protagonist doesn't know if he can trust Cavill but both has to make preparations in case he can't and has to work with him.  Or maybe it's just that Cavill plays that role well or that I enjoy movies with that sort of thing and Cavill has played that role.

Man from UNCLE was so good. Almost an eagle. Many rewatches. That is not Russian way, lol. Opening scene soooo good. Vikandar dancing in her PJs in the hotel room, unforgettable.

I don't remember it being that good, but now I think I'll watch it again at some point if that's your review.

Imho a very underrated movie. It's so fun. That scene where he's eating his sandwich in the truck, with the Italian music playing. Hugh Grant making an appearance. Great soundtrack. Too bad there's no sequel, movie did not do well financially. I would watch the hell out of the sequel and I hate sequels.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, birdie. Very cool visual effects, good cast… Just way, way better than I expected. Loved it. Not a movie you watch a few times (or even twice), but very cool once.

    • Tiger’s walking at the PNC and people say he’s not limping.
    • I haven't heard much of anything about it. Faux leather, sure. Biodegradable leather? No. No idea. You're a bit too new, still, to post links.
    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
