How was it looking? That's my favorite course within 20 minutes of the house and where I keep my GHIN.  I'm playing The Ledges in York, ME tomorrow. Same designer as The Oaks I believe, and only 10 minutes from my house, but somehow I've never played there.

It actually was looking really nice. This course keeps the greens rolling great year around. If I lived closer, I would be a member here. I have not played the ledges yet. I keep trying to get there.

We will have to get out sometime.

Sounds good! Good to hear on the course condition. They do a great job with the greens there.

Not yet. I am getting PT on my elbow. I have bicep tendinitis that came on during the last round of shoveling. Hope to get out next week.

I think I knew that and had forgotten. If you're planning on getting out, I'll assume the therapy is working.

I'm right there with you on the injuries. Seems like it doesn't take much anymore. Sucks getting old.

We have a very heavy frost this morning. Winter is over but our temperatures are below average.   Next week is suppose to be much nicer.

We had about 6 inches of snow a little over a week ago. Last night, we got a ton of hail, and it's predicted to thunderstorm all week. Colorado in the spring, baby!

Gee, I feel so sorry for people who get 300 days of sunshine a year! After 10 straights days of unrelenting rain and dark skies, we're finally catching a break.

Also, after a day and a half of unrelenting yard work, I finally got a chance to get to the range and hit a small bucket! I took only the 6 iron and the Driver. The Driver is new and I'm figuring out how to hit it. Made some real progress today, so I'm hopeful for the future. Hope to get out to play soon, but the courses are so soft they're playing like it's mid-March!

This weekend, my wife and baby are going out of town. Was planning on playing 4 rounds of golf. Well, it's been raining and snowing all day. I have 5+ inches at my house right now. A lot of the city doesn't have any snow, but that could change overnight. I might be lucky to get 1 round in this weekend at this point... UGH.

The first arctic blast of the year is upon us. Time to revive this thread.

I figured you'd be the first to revive this thread.   Our local news is saying there is a chance of snow within the next week, even if it doesn't stick.   The UP is suppose to get 3-5" of snow!

Yup! Feels like Fall/Winter is finally upon us! Could have used a little more Summer, but I actually love Fall golf. As long as it's not too soggy!

(In a place where winter exists, we might get snow on Thursday)

EDIT: Or have you moved away from Florida? If so, then I take it back.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
