Not so much when the first one was built the players committee wanted the commissioner fired. Now it's a great course after all the changes. Now more courses are closing than opening and have been for ten years or more.

I know Kevin Na is getting lots of hate for slow play.  But JB Holmes should have be penalized for his second shot on 18.  It was horribly slow.  At least 3 minutes to take the shot.  One commenter said, "I could have take four shots in the time he is taking."

The PGA Tour cannot be arbitrary.  Each shot should be equal regardless of whether it is the beginning or end of round.

After the round, he danced around the subject in a televised interview with Golf Channel and told reporters, "Can I go? I really had a long day."

Scott Stallings, who played in Na's group said, "He did the best he possibly could do. There never once was a time during the two days where I was saying, 'He's got to go faster.' "

Na is tied for 24th at 3 under. He shot 1-under 71 on Friday.

I sure would like it if the PGA found a way to muzzle the hecklers, and the morons who yell something stupid after a tee shoot.

TV needs to mute the microphones somehow immediate after impact - I believe the morons want to be on TV.

IMHO, beer, and alcohol type drinks generate too much $$$ for them. I doubt they would wait until the last player signs their card. also that would just fuel the "intoxicated driver" thing, being later in the day, when folks are leaving. Of course, the local Police could set up check points and likely have a field day handing out tickets.

I can't blame people for wanting to have a few drinks while at a golf tournament provided there safe transportation home is not jeopardized. Looking at the galleries of people I see more people with beer cups in there hands than water bottles. Take away the adult beverages and the crowds will thin significantly.

Crowd reaction to either a good or bad shot is too important to mute the microphones because of some idiots.  Escort 'em off the course and the problem is solved.....  Eventually it'll sink in.

Seems Sam Saunders is making the most of his invite so far, he's tied for 15th with a lot of those big names sitting behind him on the leaderboard.  He's even ahead of one of the Top 5 players in golf today.

Yeah.  Good to see too.

It's not gonna happen, but could you imagine if he were to win that thing?!  That would be very cool....

Saunders swing looks very good - made he's got enough game for the PGA tour. I laughed when one of the Golf Channel guys asked Arnie about Sam making the PGA tour someday, and Arnie corrected him that Sam was already on the tour.

TGC said yesterday that he's a web.com tour member, so I don't think it would be that funny if he were to make the PGA tour.

Arnie says he's already on the PGA tour - although it's the Web.com tour - maybe Arnie doesn't differentiate the two.

TV technology can capture the crowd response - just need to mute for a second or immediately after impact when the morons yell.  There are sometimes more than just a few idiots in the gallery yelling, and on several holes. You'd practically need a brigade of police out there ---- your idea isn't realistic. Impossible to enforce.

Since it's not like Saunders is a hacker I don't have a problem with Grandpa helping him out. Plenty of people have had a little help to get their foot in the door for whatever career they are in, and most of the people that didn't would have if they had the opportunity.

More than likely the "morons" would stop once it became clear that it was unacceptable. I don't see much of that going on during the Masters. Of course then the PGA Tour practically glorifies it in at least one tournament. Not exactly consistent messaging to young fans on what is acceptable and what is not.

He's 5 under after three days on PGA Tour set-up course, so yeah, not what I'd call a hack.

Aye @Golfing Dad

I just caught the tail end of that...what did they say??? Was it that insecure underachiever Buttfvck Chandelier?

It was less of Chamblee this time. But haha Aaron Oberholser went off on a rant. Wish I DVR'd it. Maybe I should say "rant". But he really was voicing his opinion and you could tell he really takes offense to the way Reed carries himself. Just basically comparing him to other players and just the fact that there is really no need to be that outwardly arrogant. Just funny. Kelly Tilghmaan chimed in a bit too.

Hmmm...Have to say that I didn't hear Tilghman say anything negative at all and was more on the side of taking up for Reed (and I watched it twice to make sure I didn't miss something).

Chamblee didn't say much except that his phone was blowing up with people wanting to talk about it. He said that he thought Reed "was doing himself a disservice" by claiming top 5. He said that he would have said "I don't care what the World Rankings say I'm the best player in the world".

Oberholser was the one that had a problem and said "I wasn't brought up to think that way" and said that his baseball friends all told him that if a player did that in baseball the next time he stepped to the plate he would be getting some chin music. (Which is true BTW).

Not that it matters in golf what the other players think. It's not like they are going to hit you.

Na will continue to play slow as long as his playing partners give him a pass like Stallings did. When the playing partners speak up, then that's when the heat will really be on. I really have no sympathy for him. I don't care what's going on in his brain. Just play faster. It's not impossible, just freaking do it.

I don't know if he was playing slow in that case or not, but if he wasn't he was probably getting heckled on reputation, and because hecklers heckle.

The guys on the Golf Channel had a good point this morning (wonders do happen) when they said part of the problem is that his "routine", or lack of it, makes it hard for the TV crew to know when to cut to his shot. Some other players take just as long but they waste the time in their pre-shot routine so the TV guys know not to cut to them until they are ready to hit the ball.

Watching that on TV makes the fans come to the tournament with a pre-conceived notion that he is going to be slow, whether he really is or not.

All that is giving him the benefit of the doubt. . . but if he was in one of our groups we would tell him to $&%# or get off of the pot.

I kind of feel bad for Na, I heard him do a call in interview on the Golf Channel.  Basically he understands he has a mental issue and is trying to work past it but he doesn't believe he was at fault last week.  He claims that when Garrigus had to go back to the tee it cost them almost 10 minutes because they had to wait.  Then when Garrigus hit the ball in the woods it took over five minutes to get a ruling.  He said from that point they were 15 minutes behind and could never catch up.

He's not saying he's not slow, but in this case he feels he was unfairly blamed when in reality it was issues with Garrigus that backed them up.   Seems he's taking the heat due to his yips but his explanation makes sense.

Yeah I probably misheard Tilghman. But I just find this all funny. Just curious to see how Reed talks after this round and especially the next tourney he wins.
