I was thinking yesterday for the ceremonial tee shots.....if the time comes when Tiger is old, and they ask him to be a part of it......would he be the type of guy who would? Or do you think ocne he retires he is off the radar and not to be bothered by anyone?

I don't think he will. I don't think he'll play one event on the Champions Tour either.

I agree with this also.

Any guesses on what the cut line score will be today? I find that to be an interesting determinant of how tough a course has been playing. I'll throw out a guess of +2 to make the cut.

Sandy Lyle just figured out the best and easiest way to play from the 12th tee box.

Play to the 11th green. :-P

+2 is about right

I wouldn't mind seeing Marc Leishman win.

As a Kiwi, I should despise all these recent Aussie wins, but seeing as NZ has no decent presence on the PGA Tour.............................Aussies will do

Say the afternoon players will find it tougher when Greens dry up. Even par will be good score today in my opinion.

The morning play hasn't been exceptionally good or bad yet ... several players (including Mize and Olazabal) are -1 on their rounds through 10 or 11 holes.

Marc Leishman is -2 after 2.

Marc Leishman is -3 after 3 now. Now in the lead.

Obviously this course suits Leishman. He's only shown up on two leaderboards in the past year and they both happened to be The Masters.

I think much higher than that. +5 or +6 if conditions stay tough or get worse.

Adam Scott? I mean, not Adam Scott himself, but his caddie. Also, I hear Michael Campbell won two big events in the past decade.

Its funny how watching the Live@ Cameras distorts perspective.  Watching #11 from their Cameras makes the hole look entirely different than the TV broadcast.

At the risk of jinxing him ... he has played 25 holes so far this tournament and still hasn't made a bogey.  Pretty impressive for anybody, and especially for somebody who has that Phil Mickelson, gunslinger, chance taker, type reputation.

Phil needs to start making some birdies if he wants a realistic shot at this tourney...

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
