Congrats.

Bad news was I was disqualified because I didn't say 7 words....and I'm assuming I would have won since I was the first to pick Rory and had him at -17. I'm sick as sick can be over that. Not happy, but accept it.

Good news......I won $250 because I put some $$$ down on Rory pre-tourney.

That's not the full story. You changed your entry too. And got a PM about it. Congrats on your $250.

Not the players...just the scores of the 2nd and 3rd guy by accident by two strokes. Thanks, though.

Bad news for @saevel25 is the driver does not come in OSU colors!   Congrats!

Way to go @Yukari !

I would ask that both of you write a nice review in the Equipment section on these clubs.  We need more reviews for clubs.

Seconded. And post some great pictures of your clubs and your smiling faces here in this thread.

Mike can then add them to the first post and congratulate you on your win.

I third the notion and I'm sure both guys will write up some great reviews.

This should be an added requirement for any members of the site partaking in the contest moving forward as well. Though we probably shouldn't make it a "requirement" for obvious reasons as there can't be any takesy-backsies. I mean everyone reading this should just make a mental note and be aware that a review would be a simple way to say "thank you" by contributing to the site and community that allowed them the opportunity to win something.

Congratulations, guys!

Congrats - I just needed better Open weather (meaning rain/wind) to get my Rory -8 pick, or for Francesco play 10 shots better on Saturday.

Oh well, I'm sure I will enjoy my Bridgestone golf balls after the PGA!

Chris P

That was a really tough break for you.

I saw that you had forgotten, and then I noticed that you made an edit where you used the phrase that pays, but you changed your scores of the second and third picks, though you kept Rory at -17.

As I said, a tough break, but they have to run a fair contest.

It really was a remarkable guess on your part, though.

Way to pick 'em, guys.

I never dreamed the scoring would be so low.

Enjoy those great new clubs.

    • Thanks Bill, Really appreciate the tips! I'm hoping between side saddle putting and working on the Jim Venetos swing I'll drop some shots off my typically mid-90's score.
    • Thinking about seeing if our local course will make divot repair part of the annual youth camp….and I love @dennyjones comment to stick ‘em to the carts.   Sadly a lot of the older guys are not stable enough to bend down and make a good repair - so they just let them be or just do the putter tamp.  We also have one member who shuffles his way on and off the green - soft spike marks everywhere….
    • The lie is not really adjustable.  The PGA states that it must have at least 10 deg angle (not sure on the exact #) all of these putters came with the minimum allowable angle from vertical.  This is why the corners are beveled off.  The sole of the club is not intended to sit flat on the ground. Having said all this, the only way to change the angle is to bend the silver piece that the shaft is glued in to. In use: 1. Hold the putter with your top hand and let it dangle 2. the beveled edge will be the closest part to the ground 3. place bottom hand much like holding a pencil 4.  Club should swing forward and back freely but not hit your foot.  If it does then you need to move you top hand outward. 5. Do not manipulate the club path. straight forward and back 6. I keep my top hand tight on the putter.  My bottom hand twists the putter counter clockwise against my top hand.  This keeps the face from opening up. Good luck.  I have been using mine for close to 10 years.  I average 1.7 putts/hole (yes I have statistics on every hole I play) Bill
    • Day 29 (19 Feb 25) - Winter storm in place (here it's cold icy rain), inside day today - started with mirror work and 8i - working on weight shift sequence using shortened swing (backswing to P3) and coming through to P8.  Focused on sensing the shift to the lead foot as I get toward P3 and then coming through smoothly.  Followed up those series of rehearsals with some easy lag putts working to equalize backswing length with downswing finish to 3' - 5' - 8' distances.
    • This is a long shot given how old this thread is, but I just picked up a Reeso VTX putter and I'm trying to adjust the lie, but it's not obvious how to do that. Aside from unscrewing the hosel from the putter head everything else looks fused together. Wondering if @PRWELLMAN @Yipper @discap have any info about adjusting the lie. Thanks for the help.
