Shot 85 today at VFW in Hermitage. Did okay. Nothing bad really just lots of bogeys.

Super mad right now. I am boiling because Alex Wagner is a Mercyhurst Prep senior and I kept her score because we were close but I wasn't her marker. She shot 88 and said she shot 85 right after I said I shot 85. You can see the erase marks on the scorecard. I tried to talk to her and the other girl about it but the other girl doesn't care because she shot 106 so she just agreed and I can vividly remember every hole and the score that she got. Instead she's like "no I had a 4" when she had a 5. The Mercyhurst coach came over and was like "you didn't have her card so you probably heard wrong." One of my teammates said Alex is known for cheating and I know I wasn't wrong.

To add insult to injury she just won the scorecard playoff for 7th. I'm almost went off. I was shaking. I was so mad there was steam coming out of my ears. My coach talked to the director and the Mercyhurst coach and they didn't do anything about it.

My mom says I should write an email to the Mercyhurst Prep principal and see what that can do. Probably nothing.

So pissed right now.

Natalie, you will run into folks who can't help themselves but cheat. Don't let it get to you at all. Your mom is right though. Write the email even if nothing happens. There is only so many times one can get away with lying.

We had a mega match at the course I play a little all summer. I shot even par for the first time ever and won by five, and our team won first in the mega match as well. We beat Villa by 10.

Happy to be the Erie Times-News Athlete of the Week.

Also kind of annoyed that they wrote it up as 1-over when par is 33 for women at JC Martin.

Congrats....My question....how did Tori take to being bested by a freshman?    I thought the last sentence of the article could have  just referenced your score w/o mentioning your teammate.

Again...super cool.

Just wanted to post here about four of my last five rounds (the one is a combined score in GHIN so that round was just nine holes).

Today I shot 77 including a back-nine 36 at Erie Golf Club. It is a two-day tournament and one girl from Canton, OH shot 70 but I am in second right now. 77 is my lowest 18-hole score ever and lowest to par on 18 holes.

scores.thumb.png.b1907648c6269c24f869658af6d67214.png

My handicap is trending to 7.9. Right now it is 8.4. It started at 9.7 on August 15 and then dropped on September 1 to 8.4. I hope I can keep it going down or stay below 8 when the season ends here.

I made the paper. Downing is a long golf course for women so a 40 was not too bad. I did not hit that chip very well but my short game and putting was good that day other than that. And other than a four-putt from a long long ways away on a stupid green.

Love the finish pose!  And 77 in competition, especially given your cap not long ago, is awesome!  Keep sharing.  Nice to have some kids on the way up here and not just us oldsters on a long decline...

    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
