Played a round today with my buddies. Got there early because we knew today would be packed, so we bought two smalls to hit before we tee'd off. Warmed up without my glove and that's the best I've struck the ball since I've started playing. Played the 1st hole with my glove and was terrible, 6 on a par3. Threw the glove in the bag and felt good for the rest of the day. My guess is it was either in my head or my glove sucked because it was a huge difference. I felt like I was more connected with the club. Does anyone else play completely gloveless?

I had a long practice session last August where the only glove I had fell apart. Did the last hour without and never wore one again. Feels pretty good. I do make sure I have some type of towel to dry my hands once in awhile. I wouldn't say I feel more connected to the club. However I do feel that if you grip the club properly you don't need one. At least for me. Edit: I started at 14, played 25 years with a glove and only in the past year, my 26th, without. Been working great.

I typically do not wear a glove, BUT when it hits 90+ with humidity, I will wear one.

It's about sweat and a twisting club. I've even got to shed my SuperStroke as it gets particularly slick in hot conditions -- back goes the round grip.

On the range, when humidity hits with high temps, I always have rain gloves in the bag, and Tommy Two Gloves comes out for practice sessions.

The past three days, I've felt as if I live in Houston. When I get back from the range, I've got to peel my clothes off ... it's as if I've taken a sweat bath.

I have a big hand and have always wore large gloves for work, so I bought a lg golf glove. It seemed like it didn't fit right and was awkward. Saved me from blisters. But today my hand was good after 17 holes gloveless. Maybe I need a better one or size. Plan to play gloveless now anyway so we shall see

I always thought the "cadet" sizes were for juniors but it's a wider palm shorter finger glove....    It's great for me as a regular large doesn't work because it's too tight in the palm but a cadet L or XL is a ton better....

Will have to try one on next time I'm at the shop. Thanks.

I wear two gloves most of the time so as to protect my hands from skin damage caused the desert southwest sun. I get them one size too small for a tighter fit. The times I have played without gloves, had little difference on my game. I'll even putt with gloves on sometimes.

I can't go without one. I use one from the bunker and 50 yards and out. If I don't have one I feel like I'm gonna throw up I'm so nervous that I will throw the club. I usually alternate 2-3 through 9 holes and if it's really hot ill use a left handed rain glove. Even on chips if my grips get oily, I get nervous.

As I've said in the other threads, I haven't worn a glove in years, and the total number of times I've worn a glove is fewer than 50 holes. Such a pain.

Yup, that's what a cadet size is. I work with a lot of hand tools, so my hands are more muscular than my fingers are long. I used to wear a Titleist Player's glove in cadet medium. That was the only glove that I found to fit my hand perfectly. One day I just decided it was too much of a pain to keep getting it (plus they're kind of expensive, for gloves) so I play without gloves, now.

I used to have to tape up one of my fingers because of the way I incorrectly gripped the club.   I've done some work with the pro at my course and now don't need anything at all.   Gloves should be snug, but not feel so tight it's awkward.

If it wasn't for needing my right hand to reach in and out of my pocket for tees and ball markers I would wear a glove on both hands - which I do for lengthy sessions on the range.  Just a lot easier on my hands and IMO a better grip.

I prefer not using a glove but, as stated be others above, in hot summertime here in the humid South keeping your hand dry can be a challenge. When I first started playing years ago I used a glove just because that's what everyone else did....so I thought it was the "correct" thing to do. Later on I played without a glove most of the time...but I was very picky about how a grip felt in my hand. That's why I always avoided the old Victory grips - they seemed too hard and slick to me. Now, I'll wear a glove for almost all full shots, but remove it for anything under about 100 yards.

    • Day 12: did the yardstick putting drill for a bit while watching tv.
    • Hole 6, 185 uphill par 3, wind out of the right. I hit a 7 iron to 5-FT left of the pin. The ball landed about 185.5 yards. I drained the putt for a birdie, and most likely a skin.  2nd place is more of a best swing made. 110 yard wedge shot, where I did what I wanted in the back swing and downswing.  I hit a 75% partial wedge 95%. It was flushed, flighted, and beautiful to watch fly over the green. 🤣. I will need to redial in the wedges sometime. Since I am making an effort to make my former 3/4 swing length my full swing length.
    • Is that like "the longest yardstick you can find"? I don't have Airtags but I'd call all of them Airtags too.!
    • Yea, that makes sense.  I remember an Open tournament when they brought out the wind meter one day because balls were being blown around the green. I think it was 45+ sustained, which probably means 60 mph gusts.  I think for the most part, it isn't something that needs to be taken into account.  Also, a golf ball is designed to optimally move through the air. It has better aerodynamics than a sphere.  Thanks for your expertise on this. That makes sense. I know about how wind diminishes the lower in height you go. I didn't know it went near zero at the ground. I deal more with tall structures (utility poles), and we have to take into account height and impacts of wind on the pole. A bit of experience, but wasn't sure how close to zero, non-impactful it was on the golf ball on the ground.
    • Day 2 (7 Aug 25) - More work on tempo with mid-irons, moved to wedges for the balance of the drill.
