What makes for a good day?   3 or more birdies and no doubles. If that happens I hit it well  and played well around and on the greens.

Good scores. That makes or breaks the day.

I will second the cool weather thing. Right now I will take a day under 90. Damn it feels like it's been hot as hell around here forever.

Any golf day. I was sick and played the worst round ever a couple of weeks ago in Delaware OH...and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Ditto.

Good company and a golf course are about all I could ask for. Sometimes not even the good company is required.

Just being out on the course playing the game. Throw in a good round and/or good company and it is a bonus.

not having to be anywhere right after

a bad day on the course is better than a good day in the office   ;)

Playing with guys that are around your handicap and at a good pace.

Good pace...I agree with. But I love playing with people better than me. Pushes me to get better.

Good company and not letting the bad shots get in my head. I can deal with bad scores if I am having a good time with the people I'm out there with. Any day on the course is better than one sitting on my ass at home.

I kind of like having a hot putter, but not having any penalty strokes is good thing too. In all honesty, I just like to golf, so what ever happens when playing is just part of having a good time.

This morning was a fun round with some folks I had never met before. Myself, and another shot 83s, while the other two shot 81, and 82 respectively. We all won a couple of skins from each other. Had a couple of parting beverages at the 19th, and went our separate ways. Just a good 4 hours spent doing something we were all evenly matched at.

I'm with you. I never have a bad time on the course. I like to play well of course but there is often drama in some aspect of my game. I am a 13.

One thing I've come to enjoy is meeting new folks on the course. I usually play with friends but also enjoy walking on with a group I've never met. Funny because I'm not really that social. But I rarely meet a jerk while golfing, and before long we're joking around like buddies.

Yeah.  How about perfect weather and an empty course--no one holding you up, no one pushing you from behind, and you shoot a personal best, with your best buddies.  Now we're talking.

Yep, that about covers it.  Maybe add a Mike's Hard Lemonade or Angry Orchard into the mix.

1. Hit ball solid

2. Make all the 'makeable putts'

3. Keep 6s off card

Usually doesn't work, but that'd represent a pretty fine round of golf!
