- Late Summer/Early Fall

I live in Canada so winter golf is normally out of the question for me. Personally though, I love all seasons but if I had to pick one it would be late summer/early fall. It's not too hot (it get's upwards of 35 to 40 degrees in the summer in Niagara (Southern Ontario), the courses are in great shape, not too busy and the leaves haven't fallen yet (pain in the ass to find your ball when there's leaves on the ground). It's the perfect conditions to play. The only minor drawback is that there is a little more wind this time of year.

As of right now, we have 20 to 25 degree weather for the next week and a half which is beautiful golf weather. Looking forward to it.

I enjoy the weather best in Spring and Fall but play my best golf on 80 - 90F days in the Summer.  With a cranky back, the heat allows me to stretch my muscles better, so on days in that temperature range I will go out in the afternoon and stay well-hydrated before, during, and after the round.  Much above 90 during the afternoon you will catch me teeing off at 5PM for a Summer twilight round.  Below 60F I will be casting flies to trout.

100 degrees in the middle of the Summer, because I get the whole course to myself lol

Spring.  Typically it is colder, windy, and the course is wet.  All this means that there is no one else out there.

Like the rest of us, any time I can play is my favorite, but if I had to pick, Spring.  I can't golf all year long in Kansas, so I put up my clubs in late November/early December and pick them back up in late March/early April.  So for me the start of the new season is always my favorite time.

This is it for me, early fall, I have so much more energy (huge key in golf) so I play better, those sluggish summer days wear me out, and the riff-raff is watching football, nice empty courses.

I prefer later in the day too, a golf course in the fall near sunset? heaven.

+1 to this.  Last Thursday I was finishing 18 just as the sun set on a beautiful Michigan evening, perfect.  Right now, the weather is cool, but the leaves haven't fallen yet, perfect.

I'm a teacher so weekdays in the summer are my go to golf time. Pelham Bay/Split Rock in the Bronx has Two-fore Tuesdays where its 34 bucks to play 18 with cart and Stonebridge out in Long Island has a deal on Tuesdays or Thursdays I think when it's twilight deals all day. For a golfer on a budget those are my jams.

July I like it hot and sunny. Nothing like being out on an empty course when 100 out and most people are hiding inside. Beer of course.

Above 60 degrees with some sun.

November through February are pretty much out; I use this time to complete nuisance projects that might interfere with golf in warmer weather. I might make an exception if the day is fairly warm.

See, it's like the exact opposite here. The courses are packed when it's hot and nasty. The city courses up here will be open in the winter if conditions are playable. I'll take 45 degrees in the middle of the winter. Then only the crazies will be out.

Summer all the way!  I love playing in the heat when the ball comes alive and explodes off the clubface.  And of course....the course is in prime season form with mature growth.   My favorite playing conditions are when the course plays firm and fast and the days are long!!

Fall golf is depressing........each and every day I am reminded winter is fast approaching by the shorter days.   I can't play as early as want on the weekends, and it gets tougher and tougher to squeeze-in an evening 18 after work.   Soon...the frost delays will kick in.  Uggggghhhh..........Spring golf sukks because the course is soft and the ball goes nowhere.  Adding to the insult......this is when we all hack it around trying to knock off the winter rust.

Give me summertime conditions, and let me play with a summertime golf form!!
